As i understand it Hobby Co has gone bankrupt !! this means there aer containers of stuff from the far east at knock down prices ....generally Modelzone buy up bankrupt stock so this is where it's coming from.......as an aside this may make it hard to get many Japanease kits till a new importer is found
Everything looks better with the addition of British Roundels!

Got some Acadamy kit in for 1/2 price today we have

1/35 IDF ( 4 figs ) at £2.99
1/35 WW2 German ( 4 figs) at £2.99

They're actually £1.99 in the Trafford Centre MZ. They also have a load of Revell Star Wars stuff at significant discount (still over-priced mind.... ;))

Gah, and here's me with no Modelzone within a hundred-odd miles! Oh well - I really shouldn't be buying any more models at the moment anyway...
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

If you change your mind, I can always pick some up for you and send them. I'll be right near the Trafford Centre one again tomorrow afternoon.

Their site says it's the Metro Centre in The Wooksta's county. 50 miles of hard road........  :banghead:

There's a sign above  every Metro Centre entrance.....Abandon hope all ye who enter here!
Generally, Geordies are  really OK, but the Metro Centre most certainly is NOT!  It's full of loons with little courtesy and even less intellect.

I've just popped into Modelzone in the Trafford Centre here in Manchester, and they currently have a large number of Revell and Academy kits reduced by up to 50%.

At this branch, they had Super Hornets, He-219's, KC-97G's, C-97's and a whole lot more at 1/2 the usual retail price.

Duncan

Just to update that list a bit, I've just been in and there are no Super Hornets left. There are the 219s and the various C-97 variants, 1/48th Academy Sea Knights, Revell BV-err<that thing with an offset cockpit and jet pod), Revell 1/72nd Leo IIs, 144th Alpha Jets, various 1/35th armour, and a lot of the Revell Star Wars stuff is discounted, although it's tucked away right at the back of the shop, not on the sale shelf.

the staff in the shop in the metro center spend more time just talking between themselves, i spend good 5 min waiting the other day with a handfull of car kits from the sale stuff,m whilst they finished their conversation.
there is a new shop just opened in the main shopping area in sunderland and the staff are a lot better, although the one on duty upstairs were most of the plastic stuff is make you feel like your shoplifting watching your every move, before you head back down stars to the till!!!

Hoo!  Divvn't lump the Metrocentre in with Newcastle!  It's in Dunston, south of the river and built on former flood plain.  I hate the place and would love to see it razed to the ground.  They gave Allan Hall a knighthood for it. Given the slow death of Gateshead town centre, now devoid of shoppers drawn to the bright lights of the Metrocentre, he should have been strung up from the nearest lampost.

Never been to the one in the Metro Centre, couldn't find it  :banghead:, but they used to have a small model shop upstairs at one time. Long gone now I suppose ?

Newcastle's branch I find very small and cramped but depending on who you get the staff can be very helpfull although they have a problem understanding me unless I slow down  ;D Quite impressed by the Sunderland branch when I discovered it last time I was up North

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

the one in the metro move a few weeks back, it now upstairs next to were the transport interchange is in the blue sector, larger shop, but less plastic and more die cast and radio control stuff
