Cheers Lenny, I'm up in a couple of weeks so I might get down that way

Went into Modelzone Holborn today and there were bargains galore. There was the huge pile in front of the door and hidden on all the shelves were more kits with up to half price reductions.

I grabbed the Revell/Matchbox Dornier Skyservant for just 2.99, lots more kits in all scales and prices.

The Dutch/Flemish sounding staff member with the Jimmy Saville/Paul Daniels hair and glasses was arguing with a colleague of his over the price of the Dorniers when I popped in the other day - he reckoned they should have been £3.99 but to shouted down!  Hilarious!!

HobbyBoss F9Fs look nice, by the way, they'd just arrived at the Holborn branch that day.

Visited both Holborn and Romford branches over the last couple of days. Came away with a Privateer at £7.99 and a Fairy Rotodyne at £9.99.

Both will by whiffed shortly..... ;D

Interesting: many of the boxes in the sale at the Trafford Centre branch had wrong price tickets on them but came up with the correct price on the till  - wonder if the boo boo is across the chain somehow...

Quite a lot more in the Modelzone sale now than there was before Christmas. Can't remember it all, but there were a load of touring car kits, some Ferrari racing cars, those Revell Classics 1/40th scale bridgelayers and the 1/450th USS Long Beach. Various Hobbyboss ships were also in it, including the USS Virginia, the Sacramento support ship and the Littoral Combat ship. Fair bit of Revell Armour too, including Leo II A5s for £3.99.

Those Leo II's are they in 1/72nd scale?? I wouldn't mind a couple of those for my honduras army, at that price it would be daft not to. Are they open on a Sunday do you know?? and is that at both the ones in Manchester or just the Trafford centre.
Cheers

They are 1/72nd scale, they were in the Manchester branch and they are open on a Sunday. I don't know about the Trafford Centre one: they wern't there before Christmas, but then the range of sale stuff has increased significantly in the Manchester one, so it might be the same in the Trafford Centre one.

Lots of Hasegawa stuff in the sale.  Down from "Sell your kidneys" to  "Eyewateringly expensive"!

Example - Spitfire VIII SEAC combo was £38, now £28.50.  I can buy four Airfix IXs for that and still have enough change to buy a packet of Flaming Hot Monster Munch (Mmmmmmn, Monster Munch)

Example - Junkers Ju 88A-4 now £27.50.  I can have a Revell one for the same price and still have enough for a three course Indian meal (admittedly on special night, but still...)

And isn't the Revell kit actually better? Or is that bordering on a JMN attitude?  ;D

I noticed how many Hasegawa kits were on offer in my local MZ today as well. Then you look at the prices and still go  :banghead:. Some of them are 30 years old as well

The reason so many kits are in modelzone is because amerang import hasegawa and Amerang is part of the Modelzone group........and yet it's still not cheap :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Everything looks better with the addition of British Roundels!
