They've got a three-for-the-price-of-two offer on all Airfix and Revell at the moment, which could save you some serious money if you're diving into the new 1/48th Airfix Op.Herrick stuff or stocking up on Revell Canberras.

If I had a few bob I'd be clearing their shelves of Spitfires.  Need to restock on PR.XIXs.

Popped into the Holborn branch this evening.  Didn't see any Revell on offer (that doesn't mean it wasn't there, just didn't notice any) but there was some Airfix Series 1 and 2 - mostly the former (WW1, MiG-15s and Hurricanes) plus a couple of Sturmoviks, also some gift sets.  Also Fokker Friendships for £9.99.  Check out the MZ website for details - and the laugh of the day - save a WHOLE BRITISH POUND off a Hasegawa 1/72 Draken.  Now a rock bottom £39.99 each!!

Academy F-89Js for £4.99 is tempting.

In the Bromley MZ all the Airfix and Revell are in the "3 for the price of 2" offer. The individual kits aren't marked but there are stickers along the shelving to indicate the offer.

The Airfix MiG-15, Hurricane IIc, Pe-2, P-39, Il-2 and some others have also been reduced in price (MiG and Hurricane, for example are now £4.99) but still count in the "3 for 2" offer so that you can get, say, three Hurricanes for £9.98 instead of £22.47

Yes, noticed that also in the Holborn MZ and should have mentioned it in my post.  Apologies.

Me too, if it had covered their whole range I could easily have found something.  I was talking to a guy who said that it came about after Modelzone were feeling the pinch and approached the model manufacturers and distributors for some kind of initiative.  Airfix and Revell and a few of the smaller guys agreed, Pocketbond didn't as they were of the opinion Christmas would kick start sales.  In Hull MZ at least, there seems to have been surprisingly few people in despite the sale and the impending festive season.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Its a great sale for modellers, but shows how desperate everyone is for sales, I feel sorry for independent shops trying to compete when a big chain is practically giving their stock away! Luckily most of the items I stock are exclusive to me, not a good time when all you stock is Italeri, Revell and Airfix kits. If you buy three equally priced items you are effectively getting them at trade price, I just wonder what they can follow it with after Christmas when traditionally sales are meant to start!
