Kingston MZ had some good sale stock.....Airfix TSR2/Stratos kit down from £24.99 to £14.99....few other things caught my eye but I resisted......!!!

Seems a bargain......Airfix 1/72 Sea King (AEW one) down to £2.99...that's the same as the same brands 1/72 Grumman Widgeon/Gosling.....!!!

Modelzone in Holborn is closing down and are having a 25% off plastic kits. That leaves central London with no model stores.

What.......? That was the biggest/main store wasn't it......? Someone mentioned to me at the end of last year that MZ where in trouble.......hope not......my son will be so disappointed if the one in crawley goes......

I was talking to one of the assistant there and he said that the building is being taking over by an hotel. Also Modelzone might be looking at a new store but it will not happen soon.

Just to add the Scalextric and railway stuff is not affected by the 25%

I spotted a few yesterday, no Goslings that I could see at my branch but the Revell Hawker Fury biplanes were down to £1.99.  A lot of Italeri stuff was marked down quite decentley, around a third to half off and there was 3 for 2 on selected Revell kits.

Any idea how long it's going on for.....?? I may have to pop into my MZ n get another Gosling or two.....

Don't know I'm afraid, they don't tend to advertise the length of the sales and I can't find anything online.

I've remembered a whiff kit, the Revell 1/72 Messershmitt P.1099B was going for £2.49.

There used to be a model shop up near Liverpool St but I think thats long gone

My first part time job after I left school at 16 was in Kingston Beatties....sure I still got a kit or two in the stash from them days.....H
