Strange trip to Holborn MZ on Thursday.  None of the Airfix special offers left; I guess they could have been cleared out earlier in the week (I was out of the country when the sale was announced) but just how many people honestly wanted cheap 1/72 Albatros D.Vs, etc?  Nothing really took my fancy but I did spot a couple of new lines on the shelves.  Also, some of the Airfix stuff seemed to be at higher marked prices than the website.

Anyway, left empty handed but I suppose I should go back to look for tools and filler if nothing else.

I've had a look in the Grainger Street branch and left, distinctly underwhelmed.  Although as I'm flat broke, they could have been stocked with me Holy Grails and I still would have bought nowt.

Hit the MZs in Manchester city centre and the Trafford Centre this morning. Very thin on Airfix specials, which have apparently been flying off the shelves according to the staff. Since some Revell kits were ridiculously cheap at £2.50 AND in the 3 for 2 sale, I apparently went a bit mad. However the intention is that I'll just sit on most of these for 6-12 months and then drip-feed them onto ebay, but I'll let a few go at cost+postage to anyone on here who can't get to a Modelzone:

8 x Revell 1/72nd Me.P1099B
8 x Revell 1/72nd Jagdpanther (keeping half of those for sci-fi builds)
6 x Revell 1/72nd T-80B

The odd numbers are due to the fact that one branch had nearly none and the other had loads.

The Revell Hawker FURY* is also going for £2.50 if anyone wants one. Also, the manager of the Manchester branch tells me that they might get more Sea Kings in mid-week: I'm away next weekend, but I could reserve some by phone and pick them up later.

You mean the Revell boxed Matchbox Fury - Revell have never done a Hawker Hart.

I'll admit I'm tempted with a Fury or two, but they'd more likely be long term acquisitions - I still haven't finished the one I got in 2000.

According to Britmodeller the Holborn MZ 'relocation sale' is now 50% off.  Don't know when that started, but my now be tempted to spend on Monday if there's anything worth getting.

yup everything but Hornby trains I think it's starting to look  a it bare. Signs outside  talk about relocating so  hopefully it'll just be moving.

You weren't asked by a bloke in a navy blue coat if you had any Revell P-26s in a bag this morning, were you?  I say 'bag', one of several very large ones actually.

Stock on the shelves at Holborn MZ is definitely thinning out this morning.  Some is being boxed up and taken away by the looks of it.

And no news yet on the new premises. A couple have been checked out but local sizeable shop units are being snapped up by Morrisons and Sainsbury's it seems.

And all because the owner of the building wants to convert it into a Premier Inn.

Went along lunchtime and picked up some paint and an Airfix Harrier Gr.9 and A4D Skyhawk, must resist!

Nope....wasn't me.....did get a Revell 1/144 Boeing 737 Haribo....£12.99 down to £6.99.....paid £1.75 at the till.....!!!!! BARGAIN.....!

I wish I could get to a modelzone,as some of the revel armour is right up my street. I have been ill for over week now and the nearest shop is about 30 miles from me. BUGGER!!.
