Hi folks this is my second entry

Plan on making a 1/48 Revell F-14 into a 'FLEETSTAR' prototype based off the Sukhoi T-10:

Revell wings always put up a fight:

Like most builds you start at the... Engines?

Looking forward to it, but if you can find one of those mid-80's Revell Su-27's, it might help.  Those things are near insta-whifs.

small update, covered the F-110 engines I had on hand that looked like they had the softest detail so i can blend into the nacelles like the pic at the top of the page. Hope to start (amd really detail  ) the cockpit soon. I don't normally get excited about doing cockpits (I detest them) but this one will be different hopefully

Had not forgot about this! Lots of pics to show

One of my better cockpits (not my favorite part of aircraft modeling)

Horizontal stabs cut to look like T-10

Since its a prototype I didn't think it should be armed (the T-10 wasnt) so I removed the tip of an Aim-7 and sanded it into just another "lump and bump"

New holes for the landing gear doors

I went crazy with the super glue and baking soda in order to ensure strength

gluing the halves together. The tape worm like mouth is made from sprue and is there to ensure the nose cone has lots of grip and plenty of strength

Bondo applied this afternoon to bring it all together up front

Probably will, not that hard to add one.

Engine faces. I cut off the part that looks like a spinner and used pieces from the exhaust before putting them back together to make it look different, and a little closer to the engines used in the T-10. Still trying to touch up the nose for priming, and then corrections and more priming... Going to be running into the deadline pretty closely I bet

Looking great already.  That's one nice 'pit and your added engine details are innovative.

You should, um >cough!< request a deadline extension...ahem.  (Did I say that out loud?).
