Don't try and look too hard Trevor, even when well built they don't look all THAT much like a Hastings, there's something wrong with the nose shape.

The first photo I ever took was of a Hastings at RAF Abingdon in 1952 with my new Brownie 127.  ;D Mind you, you need to be an expert in aircraft recognition to see that it IS a Hastings, it's so far away. I didn't know about long focal length lenses in those days...  ;D

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

 kit you are a star!

the HP world is small and exclusive. I have never seen one of those vacforms ever, though I keep a watchful eye for one. they date from the early 1980's iirc.

Martin Blundel, he formally of heritage and now Marinecraft showed me a contrail Hastings he picked up for a fiver at last weekends Huddersfield show.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

I've got one too, I'll see if I can find which box I put it in and take some photos of it for you Trevor --

I think you'll find it's a Formaplane kit though --- at least mine is.  The mould was one of the ones Aircraft in Miniature got hold of some years ago and produce an enhanced version of it later with a bunch of detail bits & pieces

I've got a 3/4 built Hastings. I thought that it went together quite well. Had quite a few trips in them when I was in Borneo

Ah, Formaplane! That was a name I couldn't remember. AiM will have improved it no end I'm sure.

Have a look-see at the Crewe 2015 show thread Trevor, there's a pic I posted there just for your edification.  ;D

Is it true that they are thinking about doing the Carvair conversion kit in 1/72 scale?

Yes but its all dependant on what the Revell C-54 kit is like when it comes out. They would like to do it but are waiting to get hold of the new C-54 kit to see how practical a conversion it would be before committing to it (they also have quite a full to do list at present, so they would also have to find a suitable place on the schedule for it as well).

Thanks.
I hope they go ahead with it.

Hi, if you take a look at S & M Models new website, you can see the final CAD images for the 1/72 piston Provost due for release at Telford in November. If you scroll further down you can also see the masters for the 1/144 resin AW 681, which is made the old fashioned way of milliput, plastic card, spit, blood, sweat and tears, far more interesting than a provost.....

Thanks,

The Wooksta!

If it was 72nd, perhaps.  As it is, I'll take Provost, thanks!

Nice to see them finally get a decent website and have on-line ordering.

The Provost looks good and the VC-10 will be worth a snoot at SMW.

Not sure about the AW.681 seems expensive for a 1/144 build the size of a Hercules, the price is almost the same as quoted for the larger scale VC-10

I'll probably take a gamble on the VC10 - got to be better quality than the Magna one.
