Yep, the HEMTT can make a decent guntruck.

Two of Trumpy's US trucks in 1/35th are the M1078 LMTV and the M1083 FMTV. According to Pocketbond's catalogue, there are armoured versions of both due out this year. The FMTV is field-fitted armour on the standard cab, although it's apparently standardised enough to have a name and part number, whilst the LMTV one is a factory-designed armoured cab with a shielded HMG mount on the roof. In my continuing quest to collect images of the revolt in Libya, I have come to the conclusion that the rebels are largely armed with technicals and a large number of antiaircraft guns.

I modelled this for a post apocalyptic forum on Starship Modeler but I'm pretty sure it could come under the heading "gun truck".

In 1/72nd scale you can use the keil craft trucks, there are articulated and ridged trucks, as well as just the tractor units, I have a Mercedes tractor unit which will get drafted into military service, I just need to find it a trailer. As part of my Cartel airfield defence, I am going to put one of the ZSU-23 AAA towed units on the back of a ICM Zil or Graz flat bed trucks I have. That would still be pretty lethal against ground targets though.
The Academy M977 has plenty of room on the back for numerous weapons too, maybe build a Bradley or LAV-25 turret onto it, or 2

Chris, just noticed this old comment of yours. Knightwing do the old Keil Craft range as railway accessories, and the ones I actually see in my LHSs more than any other are trailers:

I could pick a trailer up for you if you like - alternatively, check the railway section of your LHS. Knightwing stuff is usually bagged with yellow headers and you'll have to plow through a load of footbridges and the like to find the trailers.

That is brilliant - practical, and good looking!  Bet it costs loads more than it should though....

About 30 quid for the Tauros, 35 for the Tauros Venator.  I personally think they could gather enough interest to be injection kits, but GW would still probably charge 20 quid plus.  I like a lot of W40K stuff, but I've never bothered because of the price.

Still, I often tend to think of what I might do with the kits.  Thought of a few variants for the Tauros, enclose the drivers cab for hostile environments/better protection, add a co-drivers position, mortar on the gunners station, ambulance cab on the Venator.

I think it would be fairly easy to scratch up something like that.  Some oversize tyres, a bit of rod and plasticard and you'd have something as good, if not better.  1/48 tyres for 1/72, etc.

Nice! I haven't kept up to speed with GW stuff for a few years, but those are pretty cool.

Talking of guntrucks, I've just ordered a Revell 1:35 MAN 7t. six-wheel truck to turn into a post-apocalyptic "base" vehicle for a roaming gang. I'm building a 1:72 one for the Africa GB as well, but based on a Russian Ural truck.
