They probably would have to have REALLY KEEN EYESIGHT to avoid the barrage balloons deployed around the Allied air fields to prevent such low-level attack!

I like the look of the single-seat Bf-110. Good job.

Once the Bf 110 N/a4 was near the target the pilot would gain altitude and after the weapons were dropped the pilot would then return to lower alititude for the flight home.

The ''C'' that I intend to finish and post next is not going very smoothly, the 1/48 scale Dragon Ta 152C is taking a lot of time getting some of the large parts to fit together. Dragon chose to release the much older Ta 152H kit with some new mold parts (the short wing and DB power egg) included and call it a Ta 152C, it could have worked if they had put more effort into making better quality new parts to better match the older Ta 152H kit parts. The new mold parts are terrible, they are poorly made and have the wrong shape and also don't fit together. Its a very good thing all my Ta 152C kits are being built as what-ifs because it would be very very difficult to make a real world airplane model from this kit.
If no other problems arise during construction of this model I might have it ready for paint by Friday.

My style of what-ifs is a blur between the real world and pure what-if and while that may not be of great interest here at this site when I show my work on other sites it may interest other modelers into giving what-ifs a try, some of the feedback I get suggests this might actually happen.

Later today I might get an in-progress  pic (or two) of my Ta 152C and Fw 190D-13 and post them.
The Ta 152C has been a lot of trouble for me to get the wing root seam lines taken care of but I sprayed some RLM 02 primer on it to check it and it looks good now so I can get started on the camouflage painting today.
Both the Ta 152C and D-13 will be marked as JG 301 machines, the D-13 will be armed with X-4 rockets and the Ta 152C is being built as an escort fighter to protect the D-13 while it attacks the bomber stream.

When I look around the UK SIG's displays at most shows then the vast majority of models fall into this category or at least are close relatives Matrix. I think the majority of us do designs or prototypes in either operational schemes or we do designs, prototypes and operational aircraft in the colours of an airforce that didn't use the aircraft in real life. As far as I'm concerned this is "Mainstream Wiffery" and as you say is the most likely form to get other modellers initially involved in this fascinating aspect of our hobby. From there they may then move on to the more esoteric stuff, which I personally don't feel I have the skills to do.

You are a tremendous ambassador for the genre
