A bit less of the "Civvie piulots" please that set is perfect for the Airfix Nimrod. Nimrod crews normally wear either baseball caps or no hat at all. Certainly not the bonedomes that you get in the kit.

Well they're actually described as "transport" pilots - by "civvie" I meant "not fast jet": you could paint them any colour and make them either military or civvie, which you can't say about a guy in a bonedome and G-suit.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

They'll do well at Telford. It's always worth a good look at PJ's stand, nice guy as well

Bloke on the left in the 1/48 crew set looks like he's missing his violin...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The figures are good, I've just painted up the transport crew for my Gannet Water Bomber.  The only thing you've got to watch out for is little sticky out bits like hands, feet etc are easily damaged being resin.

I received an e-mail yesterday from PJ Productions.  They are closing down at the end of the current year (presumably calendar not financial).
Phillipe Jacques states this is due to having reached retirement age.

I find their 1/72 pilot figures perfect for my builds (particularly the cargo and civilian ones) and will have to stock up.

I will miss them.

Here's the email in full.

Dear customers, dear friends,

Certain life stages require choices, some easy ones and others very much less so.  Having reached retirement age, a decision had to be made with regards to the future of PJ Production.  And that decision has been reached after long and careful consideration.

Hence, it is with profound emotion that I have to anounce the end of PJ Production activity at the end of the current year following thirty years of existence.

Thirty years mean as many years of memories, good and less good. They provided the opportunity for many encounters with interesting people, some of whom having become friends whilst others have sadly disappeared.  But they were all good times.

In thirty years, PJ went from a few modest models spread out on a kit exchange table to more than 200 models created with thousands of small parts produced, cast, packed and sent to more than 30 countries, all of it managed by a ... 2 person team !  What a long road trodden !

Perfection is not of this world, or it would be common knowledge and PJ Production is no exception to that rule.  However, I have always been driven by the ambition to offer the best of my capabilities, in tune with the needs and expectations of my clients and I hope that the quality of the work has been appreciated.  I would ask you to be indulgent if all your wishes have not materialised, not because of a lack of determination or interest on my part but solely because of a shortage of ... time !

None of that would have been possible without help.

I want to express my thanks to all our customers for the trust and fidelity which they have granted us during all those years and to some for their technical support and supply of very useful documentation.

May also friends and acquaintances be assured of my infinite appreciation and gratitude for their advice and precious help.

Thank you also to my two sons, Sébastien and Benjamin, my supporters from the first hour, for their kindness and support.

Finally, nothing would certainly have been the same without my wife Cathy – alias Mrs PJ – whom I thank for her help, support, advice, tolerance and understanding during all those years.  She is also PJ Production !

Thank you again to all of you for that beautiful adventure, may your passion last as long as possible and take great care of yourselves.

Yup I saw that on the Hannants site (I think). Phillipe will be missed, although someone may take the range over.
