Couple of new Azur models on Hannants, which might tickle some folks' fancy, given the fondness for flying boats herabouts:

Picked up the FAA boxing at SMW last weekend, it look a rather nice kit in the box.

For those of you who don't get the Hannants updates, the ultimate "ugly duckiling" is out...at last

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Oooooo might have to start saving pennies for that. Do you know if they have a Vincent coming?

No idea I'm afriad. The Vilderbeast will be out in 3 versions though. This Mk III, a Mk IV and a Spanish Mk IV with the in-line Hispano Suiza

Not even close to the ultimate IMHO - I'm still waiting for someone to kit the Blackburn Blackburn:

I imagine it'll be a long wait.....

Ah the Blackburn Blackburn...so good they named it twice  ;D

Note I did use the term "ugly duckling" the Vilderbeast at least looks as though it was designed from the start as an aircraft rather then a furniture van that grew wings ! Mind you with the Blackburn chop the nose off, delete a wing and you've got the back end of a Hampden...and probably something more aesthetically pleasing  :banghead:

There is at least one vacform of the Blackburn because I've seen them finished at shows. May be more because I've seen them in 1/72 & 1/48th, but then there are some dedicated FAA builders out there.

The Blackburn Blackburn, the leading contender for the World's Ugliest Aeroplane contest!

I'm amazed it ever flew, that Napier Lion engine must have had some SERIOUS poke to drag it into the air, and off a carrier too!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Another review of the pugnacious Br.693.  I've built the Heller version and think it might be a much easier option, given the short-run nature of this kit.

You can still get the Heller kit as the SMER boxing.  It's about a quarter of the price, although the Azur kit does contain resin & photoetch that goes some way to offsetting this.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Whilst the extras do offset the price, some of the issues within the newer kit make it a harder option such as the individual prop blades, something that I've yet to understand the sense of beyond detail although at that scale one wonders what sort of detail is really lost.
