Meerkat Armour...a scouting vehicle based on the Panzer II (Tamiya 1/35th)

nice work on the tracks and weathering............got to ask, what/how did you make the tarp?..........could do with that for an armour build i have planned soon.........................and was it simples?

Very simples.
The entire kit was constructed, including tracks and tarpaulin.
The tarpauling is thickish tissue paper, the sort used in packing...free with lots of stuff from shirts to pottery to lots of other goods....cut out to a resonable size (based on what it's supposed to represent). If it's of an unmanageable size, cut it into smaller sections...doesn't matter in the long run.
"Scrunch" the tissue paper into a tiny ball, then carefully open out.
Soak the tissue in a mixture of water/white pva glue (50/50) and using a couple of blunt toothpicks, gently slide to the side of the glue dish (ie the bottom of your saucer!!) Using a delicate finger, remove the excess glue and position in place on the tank, prodding with the blunt end of the toothpick.
Leave to dry, and check every now and again to remove any prominent glue "runs".
I then pop it into the airing cupboard, somewhere towards the top to stop interference from the other half!!
After thoroughly dry, I paint.

The tank (like all my AFVs) was primed with Halfords Black Acrylic Primer out of a rattle can.
leave overnight to get rid of nasty smells....I'm luckily able to do this in the side shed.
All main colour painting is done by drybrushing and washes. I painted this at a model show. I drybrushed (using games workshop paints) in shades of brown, sand, and bleached bone. But it looked too sandy for my taste, so I mixed a watery green solution, and washed it all over. After an hour or so, it was dry enough to add "staining" with afine brush.
The tracks were weathered in situ, dry brushing.
The Meerkats and aerials were added.

Poles for the ready use rations. They stick their grubs and such on them so they always have a snack at hand

Apart from dried rations, they stick live grubs, wasps, moths, insects onto the poles to nibble when they want.

I wasn't aware that the Australian Wheat Board had their own armoured force but I suppose its the next step up from...him!

Dragon figures I think.
Black primer hull with lots of drybrushing.
White Primer turret and a bit of masking.
Stores, etc., from the usual sources/methods.

Some nice goods there Radish.

The actual thought of Knights Templar having armour (...err Tank Armour that is) is a tad weird, if a little disturbing.
Would have helped at the Battle of Hattin though.
