I looked around and couldn't find this one posted here yet, even though it's old.

Found here: https://www.agapemodels.com/2009/05/18/build-report-airfix-148-tsr-2/

By Jon Bius.

The 1/48 TSR2. Visit the link for a good write-up and many more pics!

Somehow looks right in those colours   Not a fan of the panel lines, but it's not my model and doesn't really detract.

Nice find

Nice job there, and it looks good in USN colours.

He got it wrong about the Vigi though, they're almost the same size, but a TSR2 would need a folding fuselage to get on a lift I expect.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It would look rather blank without them tho...

He should have smeared a bit of "oil" (or "oil stains") back from them, I've noticed USN aircraft seem to have a lot of prominent panels lines caused (seemingly) by leaking like sieves.

A US Navy TSR.2?  Looks great!  But can you imagine how appallingly bad that thing'd be for carrier use?
Wherever you go, there you are!

Snowtrooper

Not necessarily that bad compared to the Vigilante, thanks to its blown flaps. TSR.2 would approach at 165 kts, Viggie at 150+ kts. Takeoff speeds would be something like 145 and 135 kts respectively. Granted, the Vigilante was already barely operable from carriers of the time, so TSR.2 would rule out basically all Essex, Midway, and Forrestal class carriers (for starters, catapult would not be powerful enough).

Plus then you would have to develop catapult and arresting gear for the TSR.2 as well as folding tail and wings. Possibly the landing gear would need to be collapsible too, and of course it wouldn't fit any lifts even with the radome turned to the side. In theory, you could carefully position it so that the nose would point outside the elevator. Maybe. Then it would just take most of the hangar space.

Very true. It's a very personal thing and maybe I'm a little to "old school" ?
