Actually I'm not sure that is a Whiff. XN778 was a Lightning F2, later converted to one of the green F2As and it served with both 19 and 92 Sqdns in the mid '70s. But before its conversion it was one of the chase aircraft for the TSR2, so that superb painting maybe a depiction of such a trial flight.

'778 was the Commander's aircraft on 19 Sqdn. and featured on a Modeldecal sheet.

Possibly, yes. It was found the Lightning's aerodynamics were better with the Firestreaks than without.
