Opens a lot of options for modelers.  ;)

Blech.  Why would you do that to something as lovely as a Hien. :banghead:

Why NOT? O.K., the nose is a bit long (I'd leave out 1cm or so in the wing leading egde area), but I like the overall concept and the paint scheme. Should also have a very sleek profile?

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

And an extremely eclectic airwing.  Besides Hornets, LM Frightnings and drones, I saw Tomcats (Tomcat 21, perhaps?), Skywarriors, Panther/Cougars

seadude,

Yeah, that's an impressive bit of modeling there!  I think they got a bit "fanboy-ish" in doing the islands however.  Note the landing pads for the hello's and the CIWS turrets there amidships.  Those helicopters are up off the main deck and attempting to land on such a small pad with so many projections around it whilst there's all that huge flight deck so near by seems odd.  And the firing arcs of those CIWS stuck where they are seems limited at best.

Still though, that's a might impressive concept.

Makes me almost wish I had that carrier model.  ;D And I'd probably tweak all those deficiencies too and make them better. Not sure how, but I would.

Huh, the Hien already had a very sleek profile, amongst the sleekest of all, sorry but friggin' annular radiators do not
make anything sleek.

Anyhow the Hien had a bellymounted radiator, it was already liquid-cooled, so why would they bother with the redesign
necessary to mount an annular radiator. Sure, go ahead and give a Hien a Jumo 213, however that re-engining would not
require it to have an annular radiator.

Basically emptied the parts box of every aircraft the builder had.

I wonder if it could turn?
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

That's as big as some airports!

I like the idea of a complete power egg implanted into the nose, and getting rid of the ventral radiator and it respective plumbing. Sure, the ring cooler is not sexy, but the overall result (maybe on a Hien with a low spine) could look nice.
