NASA does lots of aeronautical research. ESA is purely a space organization so has less use for experimental aircraft.

Only in real life.  ;D

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

And they could use a fast chase plane...?

Relevant bits are from 41:00 onwards, including the Cyclocrane, which was every bit as weird:

Green Dragon

Either Foxone or Akotombo (somebody in Japan anyway!) did a kit of it a few years ago, I first came across it in an Air International back in the late 70's or early 80's. Attempted a model back then using the old Airfix kit but it was NOT pretty!

That would be a very different and very cool looking Phantom to have in the collection!  1/72, of course...

Here's an interesting 1940s take on 'the battleship of the future':

Looks like something you'd have seen in a 1950's Eagle comic
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I've been 'building' an F4-X for about 20 years now. The word 'building' here is used in its widest POSSIBLE sense.  :banghead:

The basis for my build was a Hasegawa F4-E and an F4-E(S) conversion kit put out by 12 Squared. This is the F4-E(S) kit conversion that I started to kick-off the F4-X build, and I haven't even finished THAT yet!  :banghead: The recce pack in the foreground is the trial pack they used to test the HIAC camera intended for the F4-X.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Phantom Mach 3?

That was actually used in a game, Ace Combat 5, as the Final form of the F-4 Development line. It went by the name F-4X
