I keep looking at that pic of the "improved" Arrow, I really like how it looks and building one in a modern low vis scheme with modern air to air missiles, would look great. Beyond my skills to get it to look like that though. :banghead:

Chris,
There was someone in the modelmaking subreddit that did an Arrow in modern lo-vis scheme (maybe a bit of artistic liberty on the tail :) ), looks quite neat:

That is very cool!  ^

I love the artistic take on the tail... them maple leaves!!   He turned a bad situation into a good one and also provided some asymmetry which is cool from time to time.  ;D

That is cool.  As a Canadian, I've often felt it was my national duty to try and build an Arrow.  Not stoked enough to hunt one down mind you, but if I ever trip over one at a reasonable price... I'd probably go for it.

Of course you can say that about a great many kits on my "wish list" as well...
Thanks!

Have one on my agenda, too (and the kit stashed away, as well as potential decals), but mine will probably receive one of the three-tone aggressor schemes, lent from CAF CF-5A/Bs. Soemthing like this here:

The all "glass" canopy does the trick for me, and the air intakes make it in to a different bird. It could of been a mark 2 arrow, and the shape we all know, still existed, but as the legacy version. I made one into a S.H.A.D.O. Interceptor with twin tails and a third ram jet engine installed where the original tail fin was. I have one in the stash too, and I am thinking of hunting it down to look at the thing to see what I could do to it. I have too many mirages, kfirs and Super etendards to complete first though :-X

The CF-105 Mk 2 was going to be the production version, the only major difference from the
five Mk 1 developmental/flight test prototypes was the Orenda Iroquois engines. The first Mk 2
RL-206 was ready for taxi trials at the time of project termination.

Interestingly my first post on this fiorum was a lo-vis Arrow...

It's just a vacuform 'generic' canopy I cut to shape. I got lucky.

PR19_Kit

It looks like a Meteor NF14 or an F-94 Starfire canopy.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I wouldn't mind one for mine, but vac form canopies don't end well with me, so back to the drawing board with that one :banghead:  :banghead:

I used an F-4 canopy on my Arrow II version of the Hobbycraft kit. I used to have some pics on here ( but you all know the story there  )
It fitted almost perfectly, just a slight bit of sanding to the bottom of it where it comes into contact with the fuselage.

Here's a link to BTS forum and if you scroll down to reply #6 you can see a couple of pics of it.

Sorry though, you have to be a member to see the pics.

Cheers Robert, I think I have a spare Phantom lid somewhere, in the canopy tub, I will look at it when I remember where I have put the kit :banghead:

Found my arrow kit and inside is a canopy for an f-4K, and also a master casters detail set for said kit. I can't remember who or where I got the kit from, so could be someone from on here. F-15 style intakes do look good on these, so might have a go at scratch building something similar to fit.
