It's ANG gate guard, IIRC? Looks very elegant, though.

Did the Soviet's toy with something like that in real life, either in the 30's or early 40's ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Dizzyfugu

Ekranoplanes have a long history in the Soviet Union, things started IIRC already in the mid Forties in the wake of hydrofoil developments.

Cheers Dizzy

I'm probably thinking of the early Hydrofoil developments and confusing myself.

The ruddy nerve of them!  :banghead:

THEY were the people who said I shouldn't even have thought of the PR19, let alone made the model and wrote the backstory!!!

Alex Ries is an Australian illustrator and concept artist. He's working on a book about an alien species he's developed called the Birrin who are physically very different to us but who have a similar technological history. The results are fascinating and thought-provoking:

This isn't a Birrin piece, but I just love the design. CNSA Nanking Asteroid Prospector: For Australian Geographic

Hm, I've got kits for both of those, but do I have the shelf space?

Probably not...........

Is there a kit for the X-15A-3 (stretched delta-winged version)?

There was a conversion kit for it, but I'm darned if I can remember who did it now. I've got the Special Hobby A-2 version which I planned to use as the basis for the A-3.
