Came across this one here:

Nice, I am just not certain about the blue cowlings?

There's also this one here...

Reminds me of a Hellcat with Austrian markings, an all-over light grey paint scheme and a fixed ski landing gear that I built when I was ten or so...

I like the Beaufighter and can see what you mean re the blue cowlings. If it didn't have the copper/brass collection rings then they might work ? Or possibly blue and white checks ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Old Wombat

I think there's too much blue on the Beau cowlings. A thinner band, forward of the access panels, would look good (even with the copper air-induction[?] ring).

Alternatively; paint everything forward of the access panels white & add a thin blue ring around the middle of the white.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

The light blue would make sense if the colour is supposed to stand out, eg. in a target tug, and light blue was chosen instead of bright orange or yellow since it's probably easier to overpaint in case of war.

Assuming here that there's no major alternate TL involved behind this whiff, so Finland would have bought surplus late-Mark Beaus after the war to replace the old Blenheims (and the Do 17's and Ju 88's, for which no more spare parts would be forthcoming ever, and the war booty SB-2's, DB-3's and Pe-2's which were poorly maintained even in wartime). The FAF Blenheims were war-weary as is even for a target tug, and removing the bomb shackles as per the Paris Accords meant that their internal bomb bays were just wasted space, so replacing them with Beaus in any role would have made sense since they were probably sold for the price of scrap metal.

<...> came across this nice X-32 conversion (note the different, F-18esque air intake arrangement, sad that there's no better perspective that better shows the lower nose section):

That's pretty nice.  Interesting idea.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

I must admit I do find the idea of a Finnish Beaufighter highly logical in many respects, I just don't know enough about the post War peace treaty to work out a likely scenario.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I would like to have a try  ;)

Now here's a great idea: a Ta-183 Huckebein, inherited by the Czechs after a somewhat longer WWII and then sold to the young Israeli state in 1948.

Model by Small Wonder Models. It's an Academy 1/48th Huckebien, and the inspiration came from an apparently real rumour at the time that Avia S-99s (Czech Me-262s) were being shipped to Israel.

I love the sun-faded look he's captured here.

There are LOTS more pics on his Twitter account here:

Lots of artist chalk and/or pigments.  ;)

Looks really good, I like it, and the diorama, too.
