"Okay, where's the job?"

"At the 911 Switchboard office..."

There's no backstory. Given the V-tail, I've suggested calling it a Republic B-39 Thundercloud... ;D ;)

This leaves me wondering about the landing gear? What would it look like, and where will it go?  :-\

Good question!

Maybe it's B-52 style: all in thr fuselage.

Maybe it's in the wings, with the wheels wells in betwen the outer jet and inner prop, the pivot point outboard of the inner prop and the leg sitting under the drive shaft between the engine and the prop when it's retracted?

Given the V-tail
Rather than V-tail (nor X-tail) this seems a Y-tail ;)

What a beast!  VERY cool!
Loving the Y-tail and the mixed propulsion.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

PR19_Kit

Is it variable geometry too?

It looks like it has some sort of a bulge outboard of the outer engines, and they would house the hinge points nicely.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Unless that's where the outriggers are.  Although it does look more like a wing fence than bulge

I thought that was where the wings folded so it would fit the lifts/elevators on the USN's new Super Carrier. And yes I know it's USAF but they might just have co-operated for once prior to McNamara ?
