Watching Sotoolslinger tackle projects he has wanted to do for decades with a reckless, (and highly successful) abandon, I wonder if a "project you have had in mind for a while but never had the guts to do" could qualify for this one?

If it's because you're scared of it, then I'd say it counts. I think the key thing here is the explanation of why you regard the whatever-it-is with fear and trepidation.

The Whirlykits Miles Student I've just got could well be up for this. On the other hand, if I build it first, then I have both resin and vac-form PZL P.24s that scare me whitless... :o

Does building a Merlin kit count in the 'Fear and Trepidation' GB?  ;D

might do. But it certainly counts towards a Victoria Cross. For valor in the face of the enemy
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

And for those who take on a Unicraft kit (obviously by mistake)?

So does that mean if I build a Merlin kit AND a Unicraft I'd get a VC and bar?  ;D

I have at least of one each in The Loft.......

Only resin kit I have is supposed to look like this when it is done.

Still trying to figure out how to get that sparkly look to the outfit.

Flick paint off the brush?  Spray from a great distance?  Or maybe spray through tissue paper?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

You can get "pearlescent" finishes in some paint ranges which might work

You can also get car paints called things like "low density metal flake black". Whether the flake size would be small enough really depends on the size of the model, of course.

Hmmm Can't remember it being a mistake. With care, filler and long winter nights they can be made up reasonably good.

And Merlin kits aren't that bad really either.

Nice job with the Unicraft and Merlin stuff Bungle

If I'm in the mood then I will give Unicraft a go, and sometimes the results suprise me  ;D
