SHOCK HORROR!! PHOTOS!!!!

First up, one of several Monogram/Revell 1/48th F-8Es.
This one became a CF-8E(R), of the Canadian Air Force, operating in Europe. With full strike capability, it also had a photo capability via the scabbed on nose cameras.

To follow are Israeli and Royal Navy ones (plus a host of other aircraft). I've not found my other F-8 models yet....including a Japanese Aggressor, all-white FAA strike, etc.....

Having read that VF-24 aboard the USS Hancock was ordered to give up its Crusaders as it steamed homewards from Vietnam (1973) I made an ex-VF24 Israeli F-8E. Straight from the box apart from the finish.
All Tamiya paints handbrushed, with decals from the spares box and an Almark Israeli decal sheet.
The model is now around 15 years old.

Forgot to say that the sharkmouth came from a 1/72nd Heller Ouragan kit (a good fit for a 1/48th F-8E) and that all the weathering/panel lines were done with a pencil.

One of my later Crusaders, a Fleet Air Arm example in low-viz "retro" scheme, again using Tamiya paints. The decals were a combination of various spares (obviously Gulf Way nose-art, Almark Pink/blue roundels, and tail insignia from a Tomcat sheet.

Next "up" will be something different, but I'll try to find my other 3 F-8Es soon.

Good to see all these classics appearing Terry
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Should be getting to some newer ones sometime.....

Hobbycraft 1/48th MiG-17PF done as a Chinese J-5A.
It's got a slightly "speculative" scheme....possibly real....and might even appear as 50% of a "Dogfight Double" on Quarter Scale's next display.

White Halford's primer, a light "wash", repainting in white with Games Workshop paints, weathering in pencil and decals from the spares box.

The kit was slightly modified by setting the correct anhedral on the main wings...plastic strip, superglue and filler. I also added a gun camera plus bits and pieces to the cockpit.
