Furies over Malaya

Some of my older models, photographed mainly because they were in the same box as the Fury TF5.

First up, a Fury FB4 of 45 sqn, Malayan Emergency, 1953.  This was a standard PM kit but I tweaked it a little.  Firstly, I added the exhaust pipes, then replaced the basic cockpit with a spare one from a Special Hobby Baghdad Fury 2 seater.  The canopy was also nicked from a Special Hobby Sea Fury.  The different cowling was to make it looked like it had an engine change.

Next up, a 33 Sqn two seat trainer, used as a spotter during strikes.

Again, bog standard PM kit but slightly tweaked.  Again, the exhausts have been added and underneath, I've added the attachments stubs, stolen from the large pile of Tamiya Mosquito rockets in the Mosquito spares box.

Long time no see Wooksta. Good to see you again. Great pair of Furies. I'm still curious about the cowling on the first one. Really looks the part of a reengining. What did you do to her?

Really nice builds Lee, both look eminently plausible to be sure.

It's the same kit cowling, just in NMF.  Engines and other airframe parts were canabilised in the far east and I just went with this one for something just slightly odd.

These two are definately lookers, particularly the 45 Sqn bird.

I really should finish the torpedo fighter one and there's a pair in NMF that have been close to finalising for a few years.  Just need to find the head rest thing - keep losing them!
