Interesting camo scheme. Looks good.  It turned out fine for a dog of a kit.  (And I know, I built one last year.)

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Love the camo  did you base that off of a fingerprint? ;D

I like this build very much, and I like the "Procession of Worms" upper camo. Very water-like.

I just *HOPE* this bird is not being used in the Pacific during the War, because that side roundel (especially in the pics in which the sides are in the shade) looks JUST like a Japanese meatball!!

Don't know if it possible or desirable to somehow overlay the roundel, with the white ring, or even put on a 1/144 Japanese (w/white outline) meatball in the center of it?

>did you base that off of a fingerprint?<

I think it would need some "whorls" and "loops" to qualify. However, wouldn't that be a good way to identify the particular aircraft---by the "fingerprint" in the paint?  (Of course, how many of us have inadvertently imprinted our own fingerprint in not-yet-dry paint?) Have I hit on a novel, new camo scheme---one's own fingerprints, blown up to greater size, and "imprinted" on one's aircraft?? Or maybe the "proper" camo for a "CSI" or "FBI" aircraft??
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Thanks, guys.  SR, you're right about the meatball similarity.  Oh well, just another reminder to always trust one's own instincts above model kit instructions.

How?  I just painted it by hand.  Hand to redo the rounded worm-ends a few times but it was very relaxing and easy.

A fingerprint?  No, I was thinking of "symbolic/artificial representation of waves" when I came up with this simple scheme but, boy, that fingerprint idea IS really cool.  You could do it right down to the imperfections of the imprinting process.

Hmmm....sounds like something the wacky Ketanese would come up with (since they love playing with really ecclectic camo schemes).

Hand-painted?  :o No way! It's so consistent.  You sure you're not one of dem painting robots the car industry uses?

Love that you hand painted this little beaut!!!

Just one question, though:  Is it on loan from the USCG (ie, the USCG symbol on the nose)?   ;D ;D ;D

Ha, you caught it!  The decals for the British version are so very drab...professional but lacking a spot of color.  So I through on the USCG emblem up front.
Good eye!

Another shining example of inspiration. Beautiful work, once again. The camo reminds me of the patterns present on a drafting eraser shield.
