Captain Canada

The Javelin would be a big seller IMO. I'd be in for one or three.

i just want what ive been asking for years, a decent 1/72 Gloster Javelin :)

Be an interesting one Nils

Well they do now have the cad files thanks to the 48th scale kit.............So its "just" a case of new tooling.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Personally I reckon the Javelin is ugly as sin but I've got the 48th one and would get a few in 1/72nd.

I've always liked the Jav.  I'd buy at least one if they made it in the correct scale.

Ooooh, I forgot about that.

I hope they'd make a better job of the downscaling than they did of the upscaling of the TSR2.  :banghead:

Just announced, a new tool 1/48 Supermarine Walrus Mk.1

http://www.airfix.com/uk-en/news/workbench/new-supermarine-tooling-in-148th-scale/

Well I'll be ......... Had to check the date to see if it was 1st April  ;D

I really, really hope they scale that down to 1/72, mind you I could be tempted by 1/48, rigging might just be easier

Wrong scale for me.  However if they did a new S6B then I would be buying one whatever the scale.  It's hard to accept that they both came from the same man's pen.

Maybe he was having an off day with the Walrus?...  Too much cheese before bedtime the night before?  ;D
Still, it did the job required of it and that's all anyone can ask.

Cheese - I mean Cheers!

Steel Penguin

its the right scale for me, not entirely the right era, but would look good for pulp adventureness, and possible something steampunky ( would need more gears on it though ).
but at the moment im doing nether era, and have a rather more pressing thing on my mind :(
possibly at a later date.

Read Ralph Pegrams's book on Mitchell and you'll se the Walrus was
was far more typical of his work with the racers and Spitfire being the
exceptions.

Fair enough - so when it counted, he pretty much nailed it.

Yup, very much so.

As an aside a question inspired by the Walrus CAD drawings. Looking at the Lewis guns I was wondering how long they actually stayed in service with British Armed forces for ? Came into service circa 1915/16 ? but when did they go out of service ?
