Clarkson is a w**ker.

Once upon a time I'd have agreed with you. I'm not a car person at all, I find it all totally boring, sorry all, but a couple of years ago Clarkson did a BBC documentary on the raid on Dieppe (one of his relatives had been involved) and it was very, very good. He also did one on the Arctic Convoy's including the PQ17 disaster which was equally as good. They are both well worth watching

I watched James May's two part Hornby infomercial at the weekend.

And I spotted Kit at Telford.
u

I watched it when it was first shown over here, didn't spot Kit though

When they were waiting for the Hellcat to be announced I happened to pass by the stand, wondering what all the crowds were doing. Then I spotted the camera crew and wondered what THEY were doing too. They showed a shot of me, with 'The Hat' of course, looking a trifle perplexed.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

To be honest it was The Hat I spotted.

Clarkson did a good one on teh St Nazaire raid and another on Arnhem - IIRC, his father in law had been a major with the Paras, taking on German tanks and firing a PIAT - FROM THE HIP!  That's a level of bravery hovering somewhere between lunacy and suicide.

I may have got my Dieppe muddled up with my St Nazzaire, but which ever raid it was all his WWII documentaries are worth a watch.

Lot of gnashing of teeth and wailing on Britmodeller from one rather vociferous member whinging about the lack of lethality and the possibility that he may have to shell out for an armament set.

Wasn't that one of the symptoms displayed by George III ?  I think  it's believed to have been a case of  porphyria .  Anyhow, he went totally bananas shortly afterwards.   I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments you express  so eloquently!!

One of the symptoms of porphyria is expressing blueish coloured urine.

Maybe Airfix are taking a leaf out of Hasegawa's book?

They did used to do a weapons kit, I've got one somewhere, in a MASSIVE box, but I'm not sure if they still do.

IIRC they did two Kit, pretty sure I've got them both too. One was RAF/US weapons, the other was NATO. And Heller did one too.

Airfix merely reboxed the Heller sets.

I have both, the Airfix RAF one and the Heller NATO one and an Italeri NATO one as well.  The RAF one covers stuff post approximately 1980.  The Heller covers stuff from about the same time period, with a bit of a French flavour as does the Italeri one, with an Italian flavour.
