Someone has to keep the politicians fully supplied with smugness, self-satisfaction, pomposity and brandy.  They don't come cheap.

The brandy or the politicians?  ;)

Well that depends doesn't it.  A good brandy could cost more to buy than a minor party pollie.

Indeed - care is needed to avoid spending more on the brandy neccessary to persuade a politician to let you buy them than the politician is worth.

There is prolly an App for that.  If not, then there should be.

Restock of the Motorhead boxings of the He-111 for pre-order, due early next year:
https://www.airfix.com/uk-en/heinkel-he111-h-6-motorhead-bomber-special-1.html?utm_campaign=2466532_Airfix%20-%20Motorhead%20is%20back%20-%20Week%2024%202019%2F2020&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Hornby%20PLC&_%24ja=tsid%3A71284&dm_i=2DJZ,1GV6S,2AQ9YS,4WZ8A,1

Saw that.  The second batch will only have the Motorhead transfer sheet in them.  That means that the first batch will be "rare" and "limited editions" and so will soon be appearing on Evil-Bay at hugely inflated prices.   ;)

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The new RN Buccaneer Mk.2 has been released.

Looking at the Bucc pics in the last AMW I received had me thinking it would look good with Phantom or Swift wings.

Yup, received an e-mail from Airfix when I got in today. Should be on it's way
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I know the Buccaneer performed superbly at low altitude, but  I'd be very curious to see how it  behaved in low Earth orbit.

The Wooksta!

I remember doing that aircraft from the 1989 tooling with a lot of Aeroclub upgrade bits and a Modeldecal sheet.

Well if it was a South African one with two BS.605 rocket motors rated at 8000lb thrust, it could have taken off from the Moon at 40,000lb. How far it would have got would depend on how much extra fuel+oxidiser you could get into it, of course...

In the latest Airfix newsletter they have a big splurge about the Bucc, including pics of the model alongside one of an 892 NAS Phantom.

If anyone would have asked me I'd have said the Phantom was the larger of the two, but it isn't, the Bucc is by FAR the larger! Amazing.  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The Airfix report on the new Buccaneer - https://www.airfix.com/uk-en/news/workbench/touchdown-for-new-airfix-buccaneer-kit

It looks gorgeous  and with the Phantom will make a nice diorama for some. Can't be long till somebody releases a blast deflector and runway for Ark Royal or Eagle.

Just been looking through my latest kit direct from Airfix, the Buccaneer S.2C.

The weapons options are a little sparce and the artwork on the side of the box dosn't agree with the instructions.

I am also worried about what Airfix have called the aircraft. Acording to the MDF Scled down Number 6 says that "Buccaneer S.2C Royal Navy aircraft upgraded to S.2A standard" and that the "Buccaneer S.2A Ex-Royal Navy S.2 aircraft reworked for RAF" so I am a little confused  :-\

When the RAF were started to be assigned ex RN aircraft they had mods to bring them into line with the S2B RAF model, some of the updated avionics mods were then applied to the RN S2 to create the S2C, I think it included the option for the Universal pylon to be fitted. The S2D was the C but with Martel capability.
