"The Monoplane Air Tail (MAT) torpedo had a gyro controlled tail fin that held it stable after release. The MAT MK.IV equipped torpedo could be dropped from between 60 and 1,000 feet at a speed up to 300 knots. The standard drop was from 250 feet at 250 knots". (extracted from Beaufighter Squadron by Simon parry, Red Kite publishing 2001, ISBN0-9538061-2-x)".

That's just the main artwork, the full box top shows profiles of the decal options.  It'll have the CGI images of the built up kit on the sides too.

https://www.airfix.com/uk-en/bristol-beaufort-mk-1.html

The box art shows a particular attack on the Gneisenau where the crew where awarded posthumous VC's.  The object of the artist has been to get both aircraft and target in the frame.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

There's plenty of nose-first Airfix box art that doesn't show as much of the fuselage as some may feel they need to see (e.g. Blenheims, Spey Phantoms, the duff Lightning F6 boxing (the one with the missing tailplanes)).  Is that then potentially insufficient/lacking?

Admittedly there's a tiny bit more fuselage to see in these cases, and there ain't much tail-first box art I recall (not just Airfix).

As a kid I was always confused by the Revell MC200 box art - thought the boxes Were upside down!  https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-great-britain-h-657-macchi-mc200-saetta--161436#

But even that did it's job - grab the eye, pique the interest, think more about buying it, possibly buy it (I bought a later boxing but that image was firmly  burnt into the memory cells!).

As for the Airfix Beaufort, I'd say the core market will know enough about the subject anyway.  The rest should be drawn in by striking (pun intended) artwork.

I've just purchased a Special Hobby CA-12 kit with that box art.

Does anyone know how you pronounce Gneisenau???  I can never say it the same way twice!

I think it's 'Gernysenow', with a short 'Ger',  but there's more than one German member on here.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Easier and way more accurate than me trying to come up with an English "word" (collection of letters, really) that would sound something like the actual name. I think it would've been close to what Kit proposed, though.  My take would've been: Gny-se-now, with the G not being silent.

Addendum:
German geographical names aren't terribly difficult. They usually follow the standard pronunciation rules.
They're FAR less perilous than what you Brits have, though.  LINK!
And the Welsh are just takin' the proverbial.  ;)

The laziness of English speakers & their tendency to contract just about every word in the language & local dialects gives rise to most of these weirdnesses.

People say that Britain, the US, Canada, Australia & New Zealand are 5 nations divided by a common language but, historically, England was (much more so than now, anyway) a nation divided by a common language! Counties differed from each other in how the language was spoken, and, within the counties, shires spoke different dialects.

I'm no expert but I'd guess that much of this was rooted in the origins of the natives of each county & shire as the English language evolved; Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Celts, etc.
