Puts the cost up a bit, but it's nice to have the option.  Will suit both modellers and wargamers, as well as making it easy for beginners.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I just wish they'd release the Angel Fighter in 1/24 ...

If you mean the Angel Interceptor then releasing it in 1/72 would be good (as IIRC their old kit is under scale, even if the anatomically incorrect pilot isn't).

One of the local LHS's had those on sale a couple of years back, but having seen the disappointing size, decided not to inflate the stash with one. Though, it would have been whiffed anyway into an AeroSpaceFighter of some sort from the BattleTech universe (faction and unit to be determined), but even for that purpose it seemed too tiny - unless it was actually 1:100 or 1:144 scale-o-rama with a smaller canopy and less awkward landing gear, maybe with larger canards too. Hmm, that gives me an idea...

(Nope, local TV never ran Captain Scarlet to my knowledge.)

FAR too much emphasis on 1/48 at Airfix these days, they need to remember their roots........
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I second that! 1/48 and bigger is for old farts with declining eye sight and numb fingers.

...

Wait a minute...

Unfortunately given the way my eyesight and hand/eye co-ordination is going that may well be me in the New Year  :-\

I can still build 1/144 kits......................

But Airfix haven't made a new 1/144 for 40 years!

Just got an e-mail through announcing 3 "new" 1//35 scale tanks :

King Tiger ; M3  Lee/Grant ; M12 GMC.

King Tiger and M3 aren't unexpected, but the M12 is a bit of a surprise.

No way for me Kit. There's lots of 1/700 scale ships I'd love to have a crack at, but I've got no chance and 1/350 scale ones require a negotiating session with the World Bank  ;)
