Have I missed all the discussion about the droopy-winged Chipmunks?

No, as there hasn't been one so far, but maybe you just started it Zac?  ;D

I posted it four pages back but it got lost in the Mossie tail wheel saga

Why is your tail wheel controversial enough to create a saga?

Mrs kitnut is doing quite well now, the memory loss lasted for most of the day, by the evening she got back most of the old memories, but now can't remember anything about what happened during that day. The doctor said she had a TGA, Transient Global Amnesia ---

Memory's an odd thing. Pass her my best wishes

Hornby just announced a move back into profit. "Only" £300,000, but at least they've moved away from the losses of the last few years. Sales are really up, helped by the various Lockdowns.

Good to hear mate.

As a matter of interest, how far from home is your local model shop ?

The one I went to was in Red Deer and approximately 80km away. If I go to either of the two in Calgary, one is about 110 km, and the other is about 140km.  Whenever I go to them, I make sure to include other places that need to be visited, Costco for instance. The reason I was in Red Deer was mrs kitnut had a strange occurrence where she had woke up that morning with a memory loss and was at the ER, and because of covid protocol's, I was not allowed in with her. So instead of sitting in my truck twiddling my fingers waiting for her, I went to the LMS  ;D

I was expecting you to say 200 miles or something knowing the size of Canada  ;D

My nearest are probably 10/15 miles, but would be 2/3 changes on public transport so like you if I go then I'd need to stick another visit in and to be honest neither area has anything/anywhere I need.  :-\ Still I think I've found one in Dorking, hour or so by train and Dorking has some nice pubs  ;D

How's the Mrs ?

The round trip to the furthest LMS is about 200 miles  ;)

Makes me realise how lucky I am, with a good model shop HEREFORD MODEL CENTRE  only 14 miles away.

Best wishes to Mrs Kitnut   for a speedy return to full memory usage.

A few years ago, me and the mrs decided to move into the country after the mrs had retired from the bank and I was working out of my home. But at the time the housing market was so hot, we had to go further afield than what we had planned to find a nice property in our price range. The downside was what we bought was miles from Calgary (where we had lived for 28 years), but the upside was we found Red Deer a more pleasant place to go shopping and of course , a bit closer.

Without going to far astray from the topic, Alberta is huge (3 times the area of the UK), but we have a population of only 4+ million. Of that, 1.6 million live in Calgary, 1+ million live in Edmonton, and there are four or five towns the size of Red Deer which account for about another million. So the rural areas are quite un-populated, very quite and peaceful ---

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Funny enough, we get that asked us even after living here for 40+ years, 'Oh - you're from the UK, do you know such & such' to which we would say 'where do they live' and the reply would be some obscure place a couple of hundred miles north of Poole ---- 'Err --- no we don't'  ;D
