And there was I thinking that the Shorts Sperrin was the first of the V bombers, it didn't enter service but it would be a great addition to the range.

Rheged

I could quite fancy a Sperrin!  The two that were built were used for numerous trials, and so could provide various scenarios for subtle whiffs.

They've moulded the drop tanks clear so you can do the fairings acurately.

That's a change and they have added the PR and K parts as standard this time when they were sold seperatly when the kit came oout the first time.

As a side not, the Victor is now the only V Bomber that doesn't have a bomb load supplied with it.

There'd never be enough room in the box for all the bombs needed..........  ;D

Errr, isn't the Victor a model of a tanker aircraft?  Why would it need a bomb load?

I have a Victor B.2 bomber in the stash, the new tool Airfix kit. The bomb bay has detail but you can build it with the Blue Steel included. My plan is to build my model  with five of the 7-bomb clips/racks -- plus with the two proposed underwing bomb carrier panniers which would have had two 5-bomb clips/racks in each one.

I have written to Airfix to ask if there's any plans to produce an accessory pack of the bomb clips/racks just so people can install them in the Victor.

This is the boxing I have:

The M'box/Revell one is a tanker, yes, but the Airfix kit's a bomber, with the longer wings of course...............  ;D

There is also a K.2/SR.2 boxing as well.

I diverted the parts for the SR.2 into the box of another B.2 that I got cheap at a kit swap.

Hmm, two sets of wheels and two spinners, a Mk.II must be in the works too ----

The Wooksta!

Some had different spinners due to the prop it got and the five spoke hubs are for early aircraft that were using Typhoon wheels.

No indication on the parts that another variant is in the offing.

Airfix have confirmed via email to one customer that the kit is due May 2022. So you'll get it around July.

A Tempest II would require different fuselage and wing moulds.

Would it though?  Sure, you'd need a different nose and cowling and alternatve wing root leading edges but apart from that, the Mk.II was virtually identical to the inline Mk.V/VI.  KP seems to have handled it OK.

Matchbox managed a combined Ii/VI kit many years ago - and a V could be made from it.  And yes, KP seems to have covered off the various angles.
