Just looking at images of the Bravia Chaimite.

Doesn't look like too difficult a challenge.

The biggest differences are the flat top & the rear, but the most challenging is that the angle in the hull side is higher on the Chaimite than the M706 (images are Chaimite/M706);

And you'll, maybe, need 5 wheels, going by most of the photo's - most seem to have a spare strapped/bolted to the front.

This is the Cadillac Gage V-200 (somewhat more different);

Thank you, Guy!  :thumbsup:
I knew about the topside and rear but hadn't noticed the sides... That looks like a lot of work...... :banghead:
I think the angles of the sides and top front section are also different.
Truth is that the Chaimite was only inspired by the M706, they're not converted hulls like the Chaimite's prototypes so, no wonder there are so many differences... starting to think it's easier to fully scratchbuild one... :-\
Guess i'll have to build a 1/72 one, which i think is too small for this type of model...

Rui the back mods won't be all that difficult..ive got one of Hobbyboss's LAV-150 ..thats the one with a 90mm gun .
Fact I'm holding it right now ...it's a pretty simple job to convert the back side as the roof line is dead easy to follow aswell as the rear doors by the looks of Guys pics that rear angle would be also easy to reproduce..fact it's easier than the original vehicle 😀
That turret looks like it will be a wee bit of fun 😁

Rui, I'd still run with the 1/35 M706, the way they're broken down into their parts would make the mod's not exactly easy, but still not overly difficult.

Guy your right and so am I 😆
Both vehicles share the same chassis and hull ..the wheels and rims are different tho between the models but  that's just age difference between the 706 and the 150 lav .
Hell the only reason to got the M150 cause was cheap and I had an idea for the turret ..that changed by the way  ;D  ;D

Thanks for the tips, gents! I'm still thinking about the sides and front section's angles. Still, I have to agree with the idea of starting from the M706... I'll have to decide soon as I want to start working on it as soon as I get my hands on it. :mellow:  :thumbsup:

Just about every Airfix email I've had in the past month has the dreaded fraction '1/48' in it somewhere! My conspiracy theory about the manufacturers and the mag producers getting together to push 1/48 is getting stronger by the minute!

To add further to it, an Art Scale email today was ALSO 100% about 1/48 scale stuff!

I'm thinking there should be a '1/72 Scale Modeller' magazine produced. :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

The Vietnam version has 2 sets of outer rims, IIRC the difference is the number of wheel studs.
I would also start with a kit; as has been said, it'll be easier in the long run than starting with a flat sheet of card.
Cladding over the existing upper hull (with or without cutting the existing away), using 20 thou or so would do the job. :thumbsup:
There are 2 sets of Driver's hatches, as well; bulged and flat, and other parts should be useable. The firing port covers are separate parts.
The turret is also not a million miles away from the Commando kit, so should be useable too.

I know what you mean.

I'm giving up subscribing to Airfix Model World when my current subscription runs out after the December issue.  I can't justify paying $AU 250 for a two year subscription (i'm sure it was a lot cheaper than that, and I used to get a free model kit).  Especially when their record keeping is crap (told me my sub was about to finish and prompted me to renew 18 months early)  and they can't seem to actually post me the magazines i've paid for in advance (I've just had to e-mail them and ask them for my missing July and August issues).
I'll just buy it in the newsagents in future if there is something that i'm interested in.

I'm just counting the months until I read the first copy of AMW without a single 1/72 kit review. They've got close a few times, only one of them, but never quite zero yet.

October's SAM dropped through the letter box yesterday with a thud and the build articles consist of 4 :1/48's, 3 : 1/72's and a single 1/144th. Plus the usual mix of reference articles and reviews.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I picked up the latest issue of AMW yesterday....June issue 163  :banghead:  :banghead:

I'm not unhappy really as the build of a Bulldog is very useful..that will help out to no end when I attack mine .

They put a tweet up not long ago asking people what it would take to get them to switch to larger scales, 1/48th or 1/32nd. I wasn't the only one whose reply amounted to "wild horses..."

The Wooksta!

There was a 72nd scale magazine in the late 90s, 72nd Scale Modeller, but I can't remember if it was Glenn Ashley or Neil Robertson as editor.

I knew that rang bells!

My money would be on Glenn as Neil was always heavily into 1/48.
