I've done a thread HERE about how to get Airfix Club membership and the club two-Hawks kit for £cheap using the Hobby Rewards points system. I don't think people realise just how much of a good deal this can be.

SHORT VERSION:

STEP 1: Join the Hobby Rewards scheme. You now get 10 points for every £1 you spend, 1 point being worth £0.10 on web purchases.
Cost  = £0
Points = +200
Points total = 200, pending = 0

STEP 2: Do the market research questionnaire.
Cost  = £0
Points = +200
Points total = 400, pending = 0

STEP 3: Join Airfix Club (AC) using all your points. You now get 10% discount on all web purchases & access to Members Only offers such as the Red Box (inc 2 x Hawks).
Cost  = £11.00 (£15.00-£4.00 from 400 points)
Points = -400 (used) +300 (for joining Club) +110 pending (for spending £11)
Points total = 300, pending = 110

You now have a choice:

OPTION 1: Buy the Red Box immediately using all available points.
Cost  = £11.75 (£12 - £1.20 from AC discount -£3.00 from 300 points + £3.95 postage)
Points = -300 (used) +78 pending (for spending £7.80)
Points total = 0, pending = 188

OPTION 2: Wait 21 days then buy the Red Box using all available points.
Cost  = £10.65 (£12.00 - £1.20 from AC discount - £4.10 from 410 points + £3.95 postage)
Points = -410 (used) +67 pending (for spending £6.70)
Points total = 0, pending = 67

Note that in either option, if you combine your order with enough other buys to get the total (after deducting points and AC discount) to over £30, postage is free (this is roughly equivalent to another 13% discount on a £30 order).

I don't think they have done that with all the Vintage Classics, however if they do that with the Belvedere then I could be tempted by that.

I believe that  the Auster Antarctic and, Beagle Basset had reworked transparencies but, I'm happy to stand corrected on that :thumbsup:

The new build Bond Bug kits had re-worked transparencies too. Of all kits they didn't really need them as all the windows are flat!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The Hawker P.1127 is listed at £6.99, which seems remarkably cheap.  :thumbsup:

Given the quality as I remember it, that still may be overpriced.  ;D  Best to look at it as a nostalgia build that requires a lot of work to get half-decent.

That's for sure. Quality was/is very poor. Last time I built one I cannibalised a damaged Sea Harrier kit to provide wheel wells, undercarriage, cockpit interior and, a replacement for the cart wheel masquerading as the big fan! I also built up the bang seat to look a bit more like a bang seat! Ok, not accurate but, that doesn't bother me and, it looked a whole lot better overall. As far as I'm aware though, it's still the only game in town.

At least this time the tripartite markings will be decent.

Ironically I actually got one cheap at a show a few years back, so I know about the quality. Still, the way things are going £6.99 is cheap for anything, and as Wooksta & Beermonster say, the decal sheet is likely to be decent and it's the only game in town for the basic outline.
