For those of you who like helicopters Airfix are re-issuing the Belvedere in the Vintage Classics range.

On another note this months Airfix Model World which dropped through the letter box the other day has a test build of the Liberator as well as sprue shots of the Bulldog. Interestingly the Liberator can be built as major sub-assemblies which are brought together at the end. Useful for tight benches  The Bulldog looks

Uh......November ? I only say that because Airfix magazines dating system is wrong to me

The date on a magazine cover is the date the newsagent should remove it from the shelf (in it's original market).

Back in the '70s, and up into the '90s, magazines
from outside of North America were always well
behind and my understanding, from a hobbyshop
owner was that this was down to both the local
distributor and the original publisher, as the latter
wouldn't ship an overseas order until the issue
was already distributed to their domestic clients.

The 'old' Airfix would have left that canopy 'fit' as it was! 

Even though I've got a couple of the older, ex-Italeri Chinooks, I think I'll have to get one of these as I've flown aboard 'Bravo November'.

They both look great. The fuselage breakdown on the Liberator surely looks like future nose options.

The Liberator does look good but I'll wait for the (hopefully) RAF version.  I suspect this will be Coastal Command, but a SEAC scheme would be preferred.

100 Group also operated the Liberator and seeing that the B-17 was released as a 100 Group machine the Liberator as the same would not surprise me.
