If you're not in any of the Airfix schemes and you can get to a Hobbycraft, they're stocking it and they're doing a 3 for 2 offer at the moment that includes all Airfix kits.

Hobbycraft is a bit of a journey for me - bus, tram, stroll - but I might pop in next Thursday dependent on which pub me and my mates are meeting in. Cheers
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hobbycraft is really a waste of time and space,. Modelling is one hobby that seems to have passed them by. Quite apart from being away on the other side of Edinburgh, you'd be lucky to find enough kits to do a "3 for the price of 2" and, that's assuming you could even find them in the first place.

Hobbycraft in Harlow today had it in priced at £12, which matches the normal Airfix website price (currently £8.99 from £12).

It is in the Hobbycraft 3 for 2 range so it will be cheaper if you can find 2 other kits you like.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

My local one (Stockport) usually has a decent selection in, given that it's only a fraction of their total business. The trouble is that there isn't anything in that selection that I actually want (I keep eyeing up the Revell Swiftboat though...). However that's more a reflection of where I'm at personally than anything they're doing wrong. My buying rate has MASSIVELY exceeded my building rate in the last 5+ years for various reasons and my house has filled up with late-aunties' stuff, so I'm seriously short of space.

Somebody on Ebay is selling a 3D printed conversion set to turn the Airfix Belvedere into an actual production Mk.1.
It costs £25, replaces half the kit, and it STILL doesn't fix the chin window problem... ;D

Funnily enough, he's asking £40 for a complete 3D printed Belvedere model WITH the correct chin window, which is exactly £1 less than the price of the conversion kit plus a new Airfix kit.

How much was the Whirlybirds conversion? Around the same IIRC.

He's got some interesting stuff, albeit for ships (@Thorvic may be interested?), but there's a nice looking Morris Minor pick up in 76th (could he scale it up slightly for 72nd?). This caught my eye, but sadly it's too small.

Something not quite right with the roof line of the Moggie's cab, it's got sharp edges and a Moggie has an essentially 'rounded' body style.

It's the same with his other 1/35 scale Moggie variants.

Yeah I though something was off about it too, but I'm not that familiar with them.

I've just contacted him about another mistake: he's got a Royal Navy DS-30M 30mm cannon mislabelled as the earlier LS-30B. I know exactly how that's happened: online research. I've seen loads of websites with the wrong combination of picture and info up. I've even contacted one or two of them to point it out in the past. It's not a fiddly matter either: the difference is quite noticeable in 1/72nd scale.

Think the armour modellers will be biting their hands off for at least one thing in there.  ;)

As usual, 1/72nd is under-served, but there are a few nice things I might get.

Quelle surprise! Yet more bloody Spitfires and, once again the 1/48 mafia is favoured.
Virtually nothing new (other than the Wessex) in 1/72 except rehashes of rehashes of rehashes of kits a lot of us will already have.

Personal view only but  I think it's a miserable line up with absolutely nothing to tempt me to part with cash. I certainly don't need any of the reissues.

Another triumph of hype over substance. Que Sera! Sera! My money goes elsewhere this year.
