That'll be the first one who can arrange a World Bank loan to pay for it all, bit it'd still be LOTS cheaper than if Hasegawa had done it!  ;D

Of course they'd end up with an RW BIII as well, so it could be worthwhile.

I wonder if an Upkeep bomb would fit a Halifax or a Stirling?

You could if Big H had any stock of either of them, but it's a neat idea. Will the 'Fat Man' fit into a Lanc bombay widthwise?

You could always "liven it up" with one or the other of these  ;) :

You need to be more ambitious http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AMU72265

Although this is a seriously large weapon! Maybe you'd need a Lancaster zwilling - - - -

The Fat Man was 1ft 2in greater in diameter than a Grand Slam so it's be snug but probably doable.  IIRC the mounting gear for Fat Man was a modified Grand Slam set up.  There's a pic of the Grand Slam installation in the link below seems to it would fit, just.

From what I've read the Lancaster was investigated for use in Silverplate, but the idea was nixed for a number of reasons.  I've wondered about modelling it before, but baulked at the cost of the Kora Fat Man.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I've got a few Kora items in the stash and the casting don't compare to Freightdogs castings and Colin's Tallboy set is only 15 quid.  I think someone is have his plonker pulled -----

Yes, that Grand Slam installation drawing is featured in the Haynes Dambusters Manual.

Interestingly the same 'chain' was used to hold the Grand Slam and the smaller Tallboy but it had different connection points for the Tallboy.

And I agree wholeheartedly with you about Colin's Tallboy conversion Robert, it's superb!

As luck would have it I ran into Paul Lucas, who did the masters and does the mouldings for the Tallboy, at the Brum Show y'day and told him so as well.  ;D The guy's a magnificent modeller!

I actually started off looking for the A-bombs on Brengun's site, but so far, they only do them in 1/144th. Doubtless they'll get around to 1/72nd versions in due course.....

Look for an Academy 1/72nd B-29A 'Bocks Car' you get both little boy and fat man bombs and you can build the B-29 as a Washington B1 afterwards  ;)

Looked up the Academy Bockscar and found a sprue shot.  What surprises me is the size of the Little Boy, it's around the same size as a 4,000lb Cookie.

I might have the bombs left over from my Bocks Car kit I will look them out.

ATTENTION PLEASE!! I have been told by Airfix that if they feel that the bugatti 100p would get enough sales then they would seriously consider putting it into production, I felt that the up and comping completion of the 100p restoration project, now would be a good time for them to start  ;D also, imagine the whiffery potential of a mainstream 100p! Added to the fact that it is a truly beautiful creation, I urge you to contact Airfix and raise their awareness that we do want them to start manufacturing this iconic aircraft that has yet to fly...... Thanks
