**THREAD DEVIATION ALERT**

Why is Corrie so popular in Canada??

Why is it popular anywhere ? Although I suppose it's better then East Enders  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: at least it has some humour

Neither are particularly popular downunder.  I always found Eastenders so damned depressing.  None of the characters seemed to have a kind word for one another and were always scheming against one another.  Both are only available on cable specialist channels and that automatically limits their popularity.

Finally back on subject and away from bleedin SOAPs, i noticed on Wonderland, that they appear to have been told that the remaiining new tools will be out by the end of the year such as the new Lightning, the Harrier GR3 the FW-190 F8, Hurricane 1 and 48th Warrier ICV. Looks like they are trying to avoid slippage into 2014 and leave 2014 for the fanfare of 'new' new releases rather than catching up the previous years as was the trend. By nice if they pull it off as certaibly looking forward to the Lightning and Harrier as others will be interested in the other kits.

BTW it looks like the new 1/48th Gloster Javelin is out the end of this month

Well I'm awaiting the Hurricane I (I need 2) and the Fw 190 F but I may allow myself a Javelin, big, beautiful, brutish thing that it is

Must admit I'm on tenterhooks waiting for the 2014 releases  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I'm waiting patiently, with a big stack of Flying Hours tokens, for various of the 2013 ones to conme out....

Been tossing cash into a box every few weeks for the release of this kit.    As to its RW service and history it's an all-but-irrelevant aircraft to me.   But in the Whiffverse?   That's an entirely different matter.

AFAIK the RAF developed its AW interception techniques with the Flatiron before the Lightning entered service and divided all their calculations by two.....  ;)

Seen that the Fw-190A and Typhoon are available in a Dog Fight Double, JG26 and 247 Sqn markings respectively.

The Harrier GR.1 starter set is available, with 3 Sqn markings.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Captain Canada

Can't wait for the GRs to come out.....Might have to do an assortment of 'real' ones as well.....

Has anyone actually seen, or even bought, one of the Bomber Support Units or whatever they're called?

I haven't seen one anywhere and most dealers haven't a clue what I'm talking about, but that means Hobbycraft branches in these parts nowadays.

Haven't seen that one yet, but my LHS had the new Fw190 in stock this afternoon.

Kit & all,

It's a real sweet set.  The engineering is fully on par with Airfix's current standards.  Lots of options and all of them are very well thought out.  Among other things which stuck in my mind is the built-in ability to depict the the front wheels as being turned.  This, as opposed to the "dead straight only" moulding allowances of other models.  For diorama purposes, that makes for much great realism.  Yes, you could always previously break off the attachment pins and glue the wheels on at your pleasure - with the ensuing weaker joint.  Airfix gives you a superior option straight out of the box.

The service platform is very finely done and pushes what is practicable for injection moulded plastic versus photo-etch.

It's a smart set that I'm glad I have.
Wherever you go, there you are!

Thanks for that. £1 cheaper than Big H and that doesn't count the postage from Oulton Broad too.
