1/72 Lightning F.2A box art at http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.org/2013_English_Electric_Lightning_F2A_1_72_about37353.html.

Want one!!!!

The camo'd F.2As have to be my favourite Lightnings - just so damn punchy.

To me it's quite interesting that they've put a camouflaged example on the box, but then I'm probably getting way to complicated in my thinking on their reasoning
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Probably because the 1/48th boxing has silver one with the blue tail  ;D

Not too sure that all over NATO Green counts as 'camouflaged' but still.....  ;D

But the F2As of 19 and 92 Sqdn. were most memorable in that lovely green scheme and I DEFINITELY want one too, or maybe ten.  ;D

Oddly enough I've already built the aircraft they depict on the box art, XN781, from a modified Frog F6 and the excellent Modeldecal sheet. It'd be interesting to build the Airfix F2A OOB and sit them side by side.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

That had originally been part of my own master plan (albeit using the Haegawa moulding of the FROG kit).

I plead mis-placed typing fingers due to my excitement at the imminent release of one of my favourite all time aircraft.......  ;D

I'll edit it to avoid further controversy.

They had a 3D printed one at last year's Telford and it looked AWESOME!

And if it's anything like their current output it will beat the pants off the Trumpy version.

Cosford Kit, they didnt announce it till Christmas last year after the Advent Calendar  ;D

Yes Capn, its better than the Trumpeter kit as Trumpeter fluffed the rear end of the fuselage by oinching in the area between the jet pipes way too much.

One of the Britmodellers posted up a pick of the sprues from the Airfix stand at Yeovilton today where they had the box and the sprues, so hopefully it should indeed be out for SMW.

Cosford, Telford, MK? Been to one show, you've been to them all............  ;D

It looked darn good no matter where I saw it.

I see it's got the air intake ducting too, thought that was a nice touch in the Vampire T.11 kit.

I wonder if they'll finally include an option for the retractable rocket packs??

It looks wonderful though - I'll have to get me some of those!

Captain Canada
