Librarian ,have you built Airfix's new tool kit in the "one true scale"(1/72) ?   Over on the Airfix Tribute Forum they are just finishing a GB of them. It's a beautiful kit.  If not you should check it out. Some great work there.

I saw a build on google, such a nice model. I'm locked on 1/48 at present but I could be tempted to drop to 1/72....so many favourite medium and heavy bombers available at affordable prices. Just finished the Airfix Spitfire XII...really superb but the jewel in the crown are the decals. Best I've ever used, really. Might post a piccie when the varnish is matted.

Like I said you need to check out that GB. Each has a build log and there is a wealth of information to be found about various aspects of the aircraft, too. I learned a lot from them not to mention, it's gotten me back into building aircraft. The price is right on them, too.  My favorite place to buy models,Squadron mailorder, runs them on sale all the time. Of course being smaller they take up less room and you can then build more ... !!!

I'm very impressed by the Typhoon. I would have preferred a Tempest, but I might still get one! Has there been any indication of price? I'm guessing about £70-80?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Considering theres already perfectly good large scale typhoons i would say the pricing will be the deal breaker here... It does look awesome but if it ends up too expensive then people will just head the "pacific coast" route....

Roll on the other releases for me sorry...

You and me both!  but the Typhoon was probably the logical one that would've come out, considering their excellent 1/72 new tool version ----

Noticed the venerable Catalina reboxed in the current Airfix style at the weekend.  Invested in the new early Hurricane I, yet to open the box.

Just go to the page you want, then right-click on the address in the box at the top of the screen, then click COPY in the drop-down menu that appears. Then go to where you want to post it, right-click again, then click PASTE in the drop-down.

Thanks but I only use my smart phone and don't have those things. Besides, I can't use a computer !!!

Weaver

Ah well I don't have a smart phone, so no clue there I'm afraid. With all this amazing technology, it's a wonder we can talk to each other at all!

The new Tigermoth is in 1/72nd scale. One of the guys on Britmodeller was shown the sprues as Airfix were putting them out on the Sunday.

Looking at the sprues you get two tails, three spinners as well as two types of bombs, also you get long range fuel tanks and rockets, now where can I get some 1/24 scale Yugoslav roundels from...... ;)
