Gondor

According to Hannants the 1/144 Sentinel by Anigrand is going for a shade under Sixty notes...... maybe I should speak to my bank manager if I want to go for the 1/72 scale kit when it comes out!

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

No Alistair, do not do that. He is quite a nice guy and does not deserve the heart attack.

The 1/72 Sentinel is priced at $148 on the Anigrand site. That means around £200 by the time it's shipped AND the greedy b*****s at Customs and UK Border Control AND the GPO have had their cut....  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Already put in planning-permission for a new work-shed with the local council, (you need a permit for that sort of thing here !!), just to give me the elbow room to build & paint it .

I was so chuffed with the Spit XII that I popped out and picked up the Mk.I/II boxing and the Seafire XVII and FR.46 kits (don't much care for the FR.47). Much industry under way ;D. I noticed in the I/II box parts that could hint at a V or even an VIII (retractable tailwheel, tropical Vokes). Has anyone else discussed this possibility?

The sprue with those xtra parts comes from the Mk. IX boxing....all the parts to build a Mk.VIII are there. What I do not understand is why the fuselage for the Mk. I, II and V has the option to cut out the section for a retractable tailwheel, unless there's a plan for a special edition Mk. III or IV.

I just did the same Paul, only I forgot to add the aircraft that the Sentinel is based on to my wish list  :banghead: I did add a new tool Vulcan and a Victor though.  ;D

Gondor
I put the Sentinel (I'd like them to do the standard BD700 with extra add-ons for the sentinel) in my one Gondor, forgot to put in the Vulcan and Victor though!  :banghead:

1/72nd Quad Tilt Rotor, 1/144th V/STOL E2 Hawkeye (stalled)

The Wooksta!

Only want three things from Airfix next year:

Spitfire V - with alternate canopies and both B and C wing.  Preferably interchangeable with their current I/IIa kit.

Spitfire XIV highback, with an alternate sprue for the lowback.

New tool Blenheim.  Starting with the mk V.

Hind sight is a wonderful thing. Better than 20, 20 vision which I found out during my latest eye test a couple of weekends ago is actually not as good as its made out to be.

I also asked for a mastiff... Amazing this beastie has been missed out by the major companies so far... And with Airfix's new 1:48th Afghan range it surely makes sense ?

This is up for sale on Ebay, by one of the best modellers in the business, at a very reasonable starting bid. He also does commissions....

Agreed, it does look nice, but; WHY buy a kit built by someone else? I'm a modeller, albeit not a good one, but I would rather do the best job I could at building it myself rather than just buying the finished product. Hell, for that price I could go out and buy a bloody die cast  and that's not what I want to do!!!

Captain Canada

Agreed Lancer. I can buy that kit for 8 CDN dollars. And with basic technics, get the same result. The kit falls together, the decals are awesome.....etc. etc.

Some people like to have models on display and perhaps either do not have the time or in some cases perhaps a handicap that prevents them from building. At the end of the day it's a free world

Have to agree with the Capt though it is a superb kit package
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Just noticed I put the propeller on backwards on the Spit XII. Glad I'm human after all ;D. Have to have a good rummage to find some spare decals.

Mossie

There's a sale on.  One or two big savings to be had, several of the gift sets have a few quid knocked off to bring them in line with the standard packagings, useful if you're after the different decals.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
