Lightning doesn't bother me much

:o

Yea sorry Kit. It's an aircraft that's always impressed me in the flesh, but model wise just not my period I'm afraid. Built a Matchbox one years ago and possibly an Airfix or Hasegawa one when RAF Germany were using the green over grey scheme

Ah but those are crap kits surely a new Airfix one to their latest standards might just tempt you a bit  ;)

Afraid not Geoff

Loves JMNs but could never eat a whole one!!

Captain Canada

Do the release dates go in accordance with the advent calendar ? Or do they release that info at the beginning of the year ?

The Wooksta!

The release info is supposed to be December 18th.

Remember Wooks - new tool Spitfire V.  B or C, doesn't matter.  Although I'm actually hoping it's a Seafire Ib as that'd be a bit more imaginative.  New tool Blenheim.

No sign as yet, would be nice however to have a new tool RAF Two Seater Lightning

Day 5 and I'm still very underwhelmed by the 2014 releases so far. Can only assume Airfix are playing mind games and saving the actual NEW  (and best bits!) for last!!

Err YEAH as the idea is to build up anticipation towards the 2014 Catalogue and the news of the 2014 release over the Christmas Period.

Odd clue for the picture of the Jeep today " Ours can be dropped from a great height!", perhaps they are doing an air portable set for Arnhem or tied in with an Aircraft or glider ? :-\

im still looking forward to the newtool Lightning F2 and Hawker Hurricane Mk.I,
especially the latter as it comes with Belgian markings

im still eager to find out what Airfix has planned in 1/72 and 1/144 (hope they re-release the VC-10 and DC-10)

-all kinds of things.

Sadly I doubt they will re-pop the airliners. No-one currently at Airfix seem to appreciate that part of the market and they resist re-popping them as it means they'd have to pay licensing fees to the airlines they choose. The VC10's moulds were modified to the tanker version and there are no un-modified mould sets available apparently.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Erm Kit, in the Airfix Modelworld Calendar and in those hacked advent images on BM, they did have a 737 and 727 with new markings and boxart so I think those two are being re-issued.

The Hurricane came out last month actually at SMW as I recall, and the Lightning is expected to be released tomorrow.

My LHS has both the 727 and 737 in the new flashy red boxing, so it can't have been that long since they were released.
