Hase FGR.2 kit's nice, did one (no instructions!) a while ago for a mate. May have wrong cockpit panels as I was working blind! Thing I don't like about it is no weapons! Had most of the FG.1 bits in it too which ended up in my spares box.
Todays Airfix kit is the 727-200 in Air Canada markings, prob just a reissue with new decals. Compo prize is the 1/48th Jackal with some troops.

I would absolutely love it if Mr. Airfix would do a range of 72nd scale Spey powered Phantoms. So many ideas.....

Note that only those items listed with 'new tooling' are actually new tools, the others are just re-issues of existing kits mostly with new decals.

OK!! No Swift in 1/48...really hacked off, but at least there's a Spit Vb in there. New Year's resolution No.1: Switch down to 1/72, keeping a few favourites in the favoured scale. Exits weeping....

Mossie

Not a bad list, not all my thing but there's a healthy amount.  Think I'll pick up a Tiggy, possibly a Dak (love the artwork).
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Nope you get the Gnat, but we get the Swift in 72nd and that looks quite a model too  ;D

Ohh sneaky, looks like they forgot the Lightning F-6 and have just added it to the list

Looks like people will rthaer like the new Blenhiem I & IV together with the Dornier and metal wing Hurricane. Nice touch to see the Lancaster III issued with the FE option and Tiger force markings although Wooksta will be vetting it for other FE features apart from the rear turret (the martin upper turret would be nice )

I was worried about the F.6, it wasn't there when I posted!  I was thinking of getting the F.2A, but I might wait for the F.6 as it probably suits my purposes better if I they don't release some early variants, unless Colin gets around to relasing some conversion sets.... ;)

I like what I see!

I can see myself getting the re-release of the Fouga Magister and the new Supermarine Swift in 1/72.

There's a few First World War gift sets in there, the First Assault (French and German Infantry on a base) and Artillery Barrage (British and German guns on a base) in 1/72 which will go well with the tanks and Western Front Gift set already out. There's also the WW1 buses in 1/32.

There's a lot of D-Day stuff out as well, guess this is seen as more popular and modelable.

For a giggle look at the all-new 1/72 Tiger Moth. In the Military section they show the civilian version and in the Civilian section they have the RAF version!

Another oldy-but-goody is the Fouga Magister. It's pretty rivet-heavy, but there's something about the way it's engineered that makes it go together really nicely. I've build two, and even with whiffy modifications to complicate matters, they were still fun. Lots of interesting real-world colour schemes too, since they've been used by several display teams and as warplanes in some "interesting" situations.

Aaaaaand I thank you.!

Anybody else want to use my Airfix hotline, please send your cheques to......... ;D

Interesting selection. The Mk.I Blenheim is nice to see. I'm not personally a fan of the Swift, but it's good to see Airfix filling in the British aviation history blanks, and from a whiff point of view, it's wings would be interesting on all sorts of things.

Anyone notice the 1/32 multipose figures are back? Again, not my personal thing but I understand they were very popular with the large scale vehicle/figure modellers in their day.

It's the Blenheims that are swinging me round to a scale-shift. Newish Halifax from Revell, Lancasters galore, a Hampden, Brigand, Wellesley and early Marauders from Valom etc etc. My confidence in 1/48 has slowly eroded over time.

I would like to see some more dedicated figures from Airfix...1/48 FAA (50s to 70s) would be very welcome. Has anyone a picture of a Suez era FAA pilot, specifically Wyvern driving. No idea what they were wearing at that time .

TsrJoe

a few to pick up indeed ...

Hurricane I with standard wing (their fabric wing Hurricane is beautiful)
Tiger Moth
Swift
Blenheim I
Blenheim IV
C.47/DC.3
Lightning

could even be tempted by their Do.17 and Lancaster (post war) too

:tornado: cheers Joe
