It has, uh, issues apparently. Engines very wrong among other things. Some people got terribly offended, others weren't so bothered. Probably builds rather nicely in any case.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

On the subject of a Halifax, isn't the recent release by Revell fine ? Looks good in the box anyway !

Different version -- Merlin engines as opposed to the Airfix Hercules powered version

Some nice 1/72 aircraft in the mix:
- Colin Freightdog please do a Swift F7 conversion!!!
- Lightning F6: interesting as one of the Airfix elves at Telford said the F6 would be out eay in the new year. So it's dropped off the 2013 list (IIRC it was on originally) and isn't on the 2014 list, so what's happenning with it?

We need to know.

Hannants lists the Lightning F.6 as due in July.

I'd certainly take some Fireflash missiles if they were available as a standalone set.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Ask Colin Simon, got a bunch from him a while ago, along with a bunch of Red Deans

Since they are doing the Swift, I wonder if they are considering the Scimitar ?

It would be rather nice if they did the Scimitar and for that matter the Sea Vixen too

A good Scimitar up to the latest standards would be nice.  There are so many RAF Cold War jets which have been sadly neglected.  Venom/Sea Venom/Javelin/Scimitar/Canberra (other than PR9/B(I)8), etc.   A new Meteor F8 (that was reasonably priced), a new series of NF Meteors (which were accurate)....

Good to see some new Blenheims.

Agreed! It's streets ahead of the Airfix kit in every respect. Well detailed, builds easily (if a little complex) and certainly looks the part. Don't know what the fuss is. Can the engine "issues" be seen upon visual inspection of the kit parts and/or completed model? If not, what's the problem? I have 4 of the Revell kits. Might try cross kitting though (Revell fuselage/tail/undercarriage) & Airfix wings to get a better Halifax BIII

Too many rivet counters and not enough modellers. It's pretty obvious that the fuselage of the Spitfire XII (especially around the cockpit) is a little wide but who gives a troupe of pink painted baboons. Lord, I remember the fuss when the Spitfire XIVs from Academy came along :banghead:. Nothing a bit of sanding can't cure....who needs fingertips ;D.

Didn't Freightdog do a correction set for the Revell Halifax?

From what I recall ( been awhile since I looked in the box ) the engines looked awesome ! Little tiny sleeve valved radials.....

Edit : Wait a minute....I'm thinking of a diferent kit....probably the Airfix Lanc !

A couple of sets and they improve the look of the thing no end
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
