Captain Canada

Thanks for that Tiger Force link ! A subject I know very little about, so it's nice to see the numbering system for the RCAF Wings !

And I hope the kit has the modified parts that Wooksta! mentioned. I'm going to buy it anyway (  :banghead: ) but it would be nice to see the extra options !

Thanks Geoff ! Be saving and printing that ! Nice to see where the Squadrons were being built up....another thing I didn't know ! Next time we drive to the East Coast I'd better stop into Debert and have a look around for posterity's sake !

I read an interesting article in an Air-Britain quarterly not long ago, Canadian bomber squadrons had already re-crossed the Atlantic back to Canada before the end of the European phase of the war had ended and were 'working-up' for operations in the Pacific as part of Tiger Force. These were mostly Lancaster squadrons but apparently they wouldn't have kept them for long. Victory Aircraft were just gearing up to produce the Lincoln then and the first one off the line happened not long before the end of the war.

Captain Canada

Ya there's a pic of one rolling out at Malton in one of my RCAF books. I guess it's good that the war ended ( other than for obvious reasons ) when it did, or there wouldn't be any Lancs around these days ! And a Lincoln on the airshow circuit, or in all those glorious post war RCAF schemes just doesn't cut it

I didn't know that Victory Industries built Lincolns.  :o

How many did they make and did they go into service with the RCAF?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

One was completed but there were others in some form of assembly down the line. But the company was called Victory Aircraft Limited.  Right after the war ended, Hawker Sidderley bought the whole factory from the Canadian Government (called it Avro Canada) and stayed in opertation right up until the 90's

That gives me a great idea of building a Avro Shackleton in Canadian colours. Sorry for going off the Airfix subject.

1/24 Sabre engine.  That'd make for a great LSR car build...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Actually that thread's quite funny.
There are some serious errors in the new Typhoon.  ;)
What if... I had a brain?
