Thanks, looking forward to both of these.

Will need a couple of Do 17's as I want to build at least 1 real world example.

As for the discount code I don't delete the current months e-mail, until I get the next one

It's isopropyl alcohol, not meths...

From Wikipedia Denatured alcohol or methylated spirits is ethanol that has additives to make it poisonous, extremely bad tasting, foul smelling or nauseating, to discourage recreational consumption. In some cases it is also dyed.
Denatured alcohol is used as a solvent and as fuel for spirit burners and camping stoves. Because of the diversity of industrial uses for denatured alcohol, hundreds of additives and denaturing methods have been used. The main additive has traditionally been 10% methanol, giving rise to the term "methylated spirits". Other typical additives include isopropyl alcohol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, and denatonium.

So I wasn't going completely bonkers.  I was just getting my alcohols muddled.
I have some (clear) metho in the shed.  To satisfy my curiosity I shall experiment and see if it will work as thinners.

Lawrence Farrugia (a Melbourne-based, multi-award winning modeller) uses metho as his preferred thinner - for weathering & fading, at least - but only via airbrush. Went to a demo he did at the SAPMA Expo on the 11th/12th (?) of this month - much was learned!

I didn't try airbrushing it but the speedy drying would be an advantage as you could weather the heck out of something without having to wait for layers to dry.

Forces TV have done a good piece on modelling including a visit to Airfix. The link's on Airfix's site, but here's the direct one:

(The video opens in a decent size window when you play it, even though it looks tiny beforehand)

AND

You can now get a free Airfix "tax disc" to put in the holder on your windscreen, now that the real things are being phased out:

Got my December Airfix magazine yesterday which included the 2015 Calendar. Interesting as all of the photos are of kits that have been new tools when issued over the last couple of years, or are due to be issued shortly all except one that is. The cover and January is a BP Defiant in the day fighter scheme. So hopefully we can expect a new tool Defiant coming along in 2015

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

A new tool defiant from Airfix is way over due, but on the down side for me....it will kill 50% of the market for the resin replacement noses I cast for Valiant wings.

I noticed the Defiant on that calendar too, and had EXACTLY the same thoughts.

Is the Defiant the oldest mould that Airfix have that's till in production? It wouldn't surprise me one bit.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

A nice new Defiant would be very welcome indeed. I have one stalled whiff one (whose parts could be swapped onto a new tool) and another on the to-do list. Plus, if your whiff version dispenses with the turret, then the latter is a VERY nice thing to have in your spares box for other applications.....

Yes but Martin think of all those Merlin-powered Dewotine 520s, MS406s, P-40Bs, Yaks, Fiats and Macchis crying out for those castings!
