Airfix Black Friday Sale:
http://www.airfix.com/shop/black-friday-sale.html

Sale ends Monday 1st December.  Some good deals to be had.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Ya that's a really good deal ! The Sea Kings aren't great, but the SHARs alone would be worth it !

Looks like we loose the free club kits in place of a voucher....It could be a good idea, you can spend it on any kit you pretty much want then, I suppose.

Yep, plus there'll still be Club limited editions. Anyway, IIRC, the "free" club kits wern't really free because you had to upgrade your membership to a higher level and price to get one. It was damn good value though: again IIRC, upgrading to get the Operation Torch Swordfish-plus-Hurricane cost me an extra tenner.

Anyone care to guess what next year's Club special edition will be? I'm hanging on to see if it's a Lightning, because the F.6, which I prefer over the F.2A, is series 5 rather than series 4, and that's a LOT more flying hours for a few extra bits of plastic.

It's odd the way flying hours affect your decisions, isn't it? The F.6 is £17 and the F.2A is £15 so if I was paying cash for them, the extra £2 (13%) for extra plastic would seem reasonable. But because Flying Hours "prices" are banded by series number, the fact that the F.6 is series 5 and the F.2A is series 4 means that it "costs" 50% more flying hours, and because they're banded in pairs or series, the F.6 actually "costs" the same number of flying hours as a Halifax (£19.99).

Airfix have released a Limited Edition kit recently which is yet another aircraft - a 1/48 Spitfire Vb (A82015) with two decal options depicting "Specialist Spitfires". Not very imaginative and it would have been nice to see a non-wingy thing.

I had thought that this was to have been the 2015 Club Kit but Hornby have changed their Clubs across their brands (Hornby, Airfix and Scalextric) and Airfix Club members will no longer get a Club Kit but a £20 voucher to spend on kits instead. See here for details - http://www.hornby.com/newclub

What's different about that Sabre compared to the earlier RAF scheme one? Or are we into the umpteen variants of Sabre wings here?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
