We worked that one at SMW2013 when we saw the Dornier in its treatment tent and the information board covering the shooting down by a Defiant happened to be sponsored by Airfix..... ;D

Another clue today on the 18th

Wildcat perhaps for one, but the other ?

"Getting the Knack" could imply a Nakajima something...? Ki-84?

Well at least I kinda sorta got one right! (I nearly suggested the Kate as well....)

I think that looks like a pretty cool programme. The Vanguard suggests all sorts of whiffery, and the Kate is a generic-enough torpedo-bomber shape that you could make all sorts of fictional alternatives from it by just changing minor details. The ground vehicles should please the 1/48th fans, as should the early Lightning.

Shackleton!  I guess an AEW.2 is possible at some stage.   Defiant we knew about, but I'm still excited!  Happy with the Beaufighter too.

I can sort of understand where Nils is coming from, 7 of the 9 are WW2, if that's not your thing it's a bit light.  Uncle Narses will be jumping with joy!!! :drink:
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The Shackleton and Whitley are very welcome....the rest (sound-effect of air escaping from balloon). Yet ANOTHER late mark Beaufighter :banghead:.

Oooh a new Sea King that's not the Dragon kit!

MR2 with interior, so wonder if the AEW will be a separate boxing or follow into 2016

Well there's one (or two, or three) for my shopping list --

Ah but it replaces their very old Kit with a readily available, affordable state of the art kit. Plus depending on the kit design they may have envisioned other variants for later one. So yeap its a  and no doubt Colin or such like will cover potential post-war variants to go with his decal sheets.

I did say it sounded like a propheads delight when we saw the clues on the Advent Calendar. The lack of Cold War jets is a bit of a disappointment but the Shackleton certainty helps make up for it. What is interesting as there are no re-issues mentioned in the 1/72nd aircraft, there are in 48th and 1/144 but none in 72nd although there are some delayed from 2014 still to be issued in 2015 and we may see some re-boxed that have sneaked out before.

Anyway if this years prophead's maybe next year it will be hot air brigades turn with some new Cold War types to appear.

Another aspect that's interesting is some rumours about what Airfix wont do have been quashed, some have said after the 1/48th Merlin that Airfix wouldn't be doing anymore Helicopters, yet we have a new correct Sea king Commando lined up (long overdue to be honest !). Another rumour was they wouldn't do any kits of aircraft that no longer exist and wouldn't consider doing them unless they could get up close to scan, measure and photograph it, yet here we are with a brand new AW Whitley kit coming out.

Ironically we have to wait until next year to see what the likes of Revell. Italeri and Heller have lined up for 2015, so we'll have to see if we're on for a bumper year or not.

Really looking forward to that Beau (up-to-date, available and affordable - what's not to love? ) and Sea King!

Slightly disappointed there are no new jets apart from the AV-8A, though. A Sea Vixen and Bucc in 2016 then, right?
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

crudebuteffective

with this years new lancasters and next years shak hopefully 2016 will be a lincoln

in the meantime who will be the first with a griffon lancaster kit bash

NARSES2

Already got plans for at least 2 Whitley's. One Wif included. My late 30's/early war collection is definitely going to have grown over the last couple of years. Maybe Airfix are working through RAF types in a form of chronological order with a few jet jobs thrown in to appease all you kids ?  So new tool Mossie next year ?

Are the 1/48th Spit and Hurricane new tools or re-issues?

Well I can say that I am happy and not happy about the new tooled kits in Airfix's 2015 catalogue.

Happy because some of the new items are kits I would buy, even the Shackleton at just under £40 will have at least one purchase. Not happy as with my lack of employment it will make buying the kits that bit more difficult  :banghead:
Speaking of which, I bet the price of the Aeroclub AEW2 conversions just went through the floor.
