I was very happy to see all the joyous commentary about the Shack and Beau at Britmodeller this morning! Very cool.

As far as I'm concerned the Shack is on next year's Xmas list (HAS to be built as the Shackleton Preservation Trust's machine, I've followed them on FB and the Key Publishing Forum), I'm curious to see the NZ retail price for the Comet, want to try the Stuka, and I wonder how hard it will be to bash the Beau into an RAAF one?

Some cool stuff there - I like the Mustang and VW in the QuickBuilds! Cool for collectors of those types to have on their desk at work.

They'd be silly not to utilise their stock of old moulds (and the bean counters wouldn't let them not do it) so I suspect that this announcement is, for 1/72 at least, only the new stuff that will excite us.  Where they have no new stuff to excite us they have announced the re-pops.  Expect to see announcements of 1/72 re-pops later.
I'm looking forwards to seeing this lot on the shelves here in 2019...

Well judging by the clues in the text, it was the Wildcat. The "tip tanks" were presumably the wrapper's little joke.

The Shackleton and the Whitley will be very welcome additions.   The Shack's bomb bay looks a bit bare with just two torpedoes in it.  The after-market crowd will be adding to that, I think.   It will though, put the old Frog moulding to real shame I suspect.

The Defiant and other WWII subjects are all good as well.   Not my period but it's nice to know that there are new mouldings out there of old favourites.

Methinks a Shackleton in 2016 is on the menu.

I have an across-the-board objection to paying £40 for any kit no matter how good it is, so I doubt I'll be getting one any time soon. That isn't a comment on the kit or the pricing, it's a statement of my priorities: if I was rich it'd be different. If they end up heavily discounted in a few year's time, I might get one then, because it would go well with my Nimrod and Neptune, neither of which I paid anything like full retail for.

The Defiant may be on the shopping list, as might one AV-8A.

1/24 Triumph Stag would be nice. There was a GT6 and Triumph Spitfire in 1/35.
Even the Honda Ballade, this could be turned into the Triumph Acclaim or Rover 200. Which in turn becomesthe Avon Turbo with a few decals.
Then there is the 16/60 which shared its styling with the Farina Morris Oxford, Austin Cambridge, Riley 4/68 and the MG Magnette.
The 18/85 Mkll-Wolseley Six, Morris 2200 six cylinder Austin 1800. Four door sedan or Ute if you're Australian.

ref some of the comments about pricing. Bare one thing in mind Airfix isnt in business to please modellers, it like any other private business is there first and foremost to make money and turn a profit for its owner/share holders.
They can (and do) charge what they think will recoup their outlay on tooling, raw materials, equipment investment, packaging, staffing and building maintance ect.

As I raised that issue, this is pointed squarely at me.........

My point was that they have no outlay on moulds, they've existed for umpteen years and unless they've done a lot of extra work on them, something that Airfix has never done on any of their airliners except when  they turned the 727-100 into a -200, I can't see how they can possibly expect modellers to pay almost £15.00 for a kit that's :-

a] a lot smaller than a Revell 787
b] a lot less sophisticated kit than the 787
c] only £2 cheaper than the 787!

In order to turn a profit for its owner/share holders it still needs to SELL the kits.............

John Adams has already hinted on Britmodeller that he knew of the Airfix kit and was purposely not rereleasing the conversion.  To be fair, his moulds, his choice.

Lindberg did a GT6 in 24th/25th.  Got one somewhere as it was rereleased a few year back.

Don't bother.  I've seen that conversion and it's seriously lacking a lot of bits, such as turret interiors, proper Lincoln wheels and rudders.

Does the Blackbird one come with a solid blank for the nose glazing?
