What export market?

Europe and Ireland?

Apart from Swift FR5s that is.........  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Got my August  :banghead: edition of Airfix Magazine today and it's got a build of the HE 111. Looks very nice indeed and gets a good report.

There's also a full page advert for the Kate which shows the two schemes on offer plus the fact that one will be torpedo armed whilst the other is a bomber. Thus either a spare Japanese torpedo or bombs  :banghead:

The mag it'self has a nice eclectic mix. Apart from the aircraft builds there's The Old Bill bus, Space ship (Soyuz/Apollo) and a motor bike build. Nice mix.

Flippin eck ! It'll be an RE 8 next  :banghead: Can I please, please destroy the old moulds when you do Mr Airfix ?  ;D

Seriously it's nice to see some WWI subjects and it's probably the first time someone has made a Be2C in injection plastic, or at least the first buildable one ! I've not heard of a resin one but someone like Choroszy probably has as they definitely have a "wires" fetish  The Eindecker is a nice choice as well and obviously goes with the Be as the original "Dogfight Double". If the Be builds like the Tiger Moth then it will be a good kit and kids don't worry about the rigging anyway so a good introduction to the early days of military aviation. Just wonder if Eduard will do a rigging set in etch ? I'm going to start their Avia shortly and that has etched rigging so I'll see how practical it is as a concept.

So who will be the first to wif them ?

a Be.2c  :o
does it come with Belgian Markings (and Belgian modified Hispano engine)?
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

I've often wondered why producers of WW1 aircraft models don't include a rigging guide. Not being a particularly gifted(understatement) modeller I've decided to try a 1/48 model so I can get the hang of it. I'm sure it would be a case of knit one, pearl one if I tried to rig a1/72! I'm going to have to buy them though.

A right little surprise!
Two new mould WWI string bags. Might tempt me to give a go at rigging again.
Last time was when i was a kid in the 70's, black thread, scale thickness of my wrists! ;D

The pilot figures look great!

I wish these (and from other eras) were sold seperately - I'd appreciate a pack of 10 from WWI, II and modern era...

And it is amazing to witness how Airfix develops into a really good kit manufacturer. I never expected this.

Looking at the pics of the restored example it'd be nice to have wings moulded in clear so we could try to achieve the semi translucent effect of the fabric covering.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Some kits have a rigging guide (the Airfix Gladiator for example) although to be honest in 1/72 I don't think it's necessary to replicate all of the rigging but just to try give an impression of it. Makes life a little easier that's for sure especially where you have double rigging wires  . In 1/48 and 1/32 it can be easier but you still need to take your time and find a method that suits you.

I should have remembered Roden, but 1/48 doesn't stick in my mind, and now you mention Meikraft it stirs a memory. Veeday ? New one to me completely. Thanks for reminding me

Cheers Narses, I'm trying to get as many photos as possible to give me an idea. Fingers crossed.
