Come to think of it, does anyone have a 1:72 bv.141 in their stash? I'd be willing to pay any reasonable price for one  ;D

It just puzzles me why there is only one bv.141 at a reasonable price on the entire interweb, like, where have they disappeared???  :banghead:

OK, the Big Book says the Airfix kit was reboxed by Bilek and SK Models, it also says MPM did/does one and also Unicraft (I suspect that would be a different variant though)
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Ahh poop, OK thanks for that, but aren't the decals still rubbish with the older ones? And they still cost £15-£20 more than the new release does.... It just puzzles me why there is only one bv.141 at a reasonable price on the entire interweb, like, where have they disappeared???  :banghead:

Agree re the old style transfers. I have the recent re-pop in the red box and they are good quality, boring but good. In checking the box I discovered I obviously had my Mr Sensible hat on that day and have the Eduard pre-cut mask  ;D ;D

Probably still mask the glazing over 3/4 sittings but thinking Italian or Hungarian ? Maybe the Hungarian's built them under licence ?

As for MPM....never, ever new they had tooled one. Interesting, cheers Robert
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Does anyone know why the Airfix Bohlm & Voss bv.141 has just disappeared from the face of the earth? I can only find one of the new releases online,  the rest are from the 90's or earlier and I'm not willing to pay and extra £15 or more for poorer quality kits  :banghead:

Airfix have only ever produced one kit of the Bv.141 so your going to get an old kit no matter what.

Ah but whilst the decals are crapper the actual moulding is much crisper as the tooling is fresher, without the years of miss use by the Heller factory at Trun. The latest boxing should be OK as they have tended to clean up the tools before sending them out to be procuced again.

The Wooksta!

The Unicrap Bv 141 is the V-2 prototype - actually the first prototype.  I know, it's confusing!

MPM have never done a Bv 141.  There's a 48th kit by a Czech/Polish company, HiPM, so that's where the confusion must be.

Nice! I just backordered with Hannants last night after getting an unexpected refund from the Tax Man.

Has anyone else seen the photo on the Airfix Facebook page of a LIDAR scanner in one of Duxford's hangars? I'm thinking my email last week about Spey Phantoms kicked them into gear ;)

You wish - LOL. Its benn pushed for a number of years and the researchers were discussing the type around SMW last year, so we know they are interested, its a case of has it been approved and if so how long to produce as Airfix have a rolling 3 year programme.

A point of note however is thats one of Duxfords original hangers and a variety of types are in there or may even have been moved in to allow Airfix to scan it, so i think we may need some more clues to confirm a specific type.

The Airfix website is offering a free workstation (RRP: £19.99) if you buy £35 of Humbrol products:

http://www.humbrol.com/uk-en/free-workstation.html

I strongly suspect that they've come a cropper with the workstation, since they've also been including it in kit bundles to push the RRP up, thereby making the saving on the actual kits less impressive. Most people I've spoken to think it's a neat product, but they arn't willing to pay twenty quid for what's basically a blow-moulded plastic tray.

the tray is ok (the wife uses one) but i find its to small for anything outside a small 1/72 scale spitfire ect.
